Major dilemma

My wife bought me a Passport 9500i today.
I am very happy....but.....should I return it and get V1?
so cuntfused.
I know they are both very good. I like the GPS thinkg in the passport...and I have feeling that eventually we will be able to download a speedtrap data base but,
is the V1 better?

What do you think?
lemme make a poll....

the funny thing is I haven't bought a radar detector because I couldn't decide b/w the two of them!

from my understanding, the val. 1 is a little prone to false alarms more than any other detector

... buy the val 1 and sell the passport to me

keep it because it was a gift. And if I remember correctly, Passports were the second best detector on the market.

It's a gift from your wife.... That is kind of rude if you were to return it and get something else. IMO.

From the billion threads like this, Ive come to the conclusion that the V1 over the Passport is purely opinionated.

If you like arrows telling you where the radar is, get the V1. If you dont care, stick with the passport.

Both are excellent radars.

Not really, rather than getting to that conclusion by reading threads I actually have had owned both over the past years and trust me V1 is indeed far better than any iteration of Passport.

the good ones like the passport and the V1 wprk well. When I lived in Va a bunch a friends had V1's hidden behind the dash. The lights showed up behind an AC vent. It's illegal to own in VA, and if they see it, you get another ticket.

But IF she really doesn't care, then get a V1. I don't have one, but always drool when my friend andI drive out to Vegas in his car. Gotta say, the arrow indicators are nifty.

It's like choosing between an Acura TL and a Honda Accord V6.

IMHO, its the same crap, but one comes with slightly better HP (or radar detection range) and more bells and whistles so they can charge slightly more for it.
