Maintenance Cost TL vs. 325????

Hi guys, I am considering switchin from my 00tl to a 06 325i.
I have always heard that the bmw maintenance is really expensive but I just want to ask if you guys know if its really true (since the 4 year bmw warranty runs out quick) . I know my 00tl costs almost next to nothing to maintain =D (well didnt change my timing belt yet).
Anyone know how big the difference is in terms of maintenance of an acura TL vs. the 325i? and also why is it so much more expensive?

Thanks for your inputs

It's going to be for sure greater with the BMW. My 99TL has virtually no major maintenance done to it other then the timing belt. I doubt your going to be that lucky with the Bimmer. I have read if the BMW is older then 4 years. You going to be in for allot of maintenance.

Wrong forum first off. Second, the 325 is a gutless wonder, I'd imagine it's extremely slow.

Ok, I just checked. Does this come with the 3L engine or the 2.5L? If it's the 2.5L I'd pass.

...and if the Bimmer is under factory warranty, your maintenance may still be "free"

I believe it is indeed the 2.5l inline-6, has like 180 hp i think ,the TSX doesn't sound so weak anymore.

Why even comment on the engine being gutless if you dont really know what engine is in it?

Anyways.. the 2006 325i is a 3.0L in the U.S and hardly all that slow. Does high 14s in the 1/4 with "only" 215hp/184tq which is underrated. Its also MUCH more refined than a TSX or TL is. IMO

AS for maintenance, just dont take it to the dealer for it and you wont get raped.

I'm just saying, with the exception of the 335, BMW's seem to have pretty low numbers to me at least...

If high 14s is "extremely slow" to you then yikes.. what do you think of your TL.

Anywho, the TL will cost less to own of course. If you get the BMW just get an extended warranty and have your routine service done at an independent shop for less.
