Magazine articles

Has a magazine article ever made you want to buy a car or at least test drive one? What type of reviews, ratings did your car get? It seems like a lot of people don't look at magazine reviews and comparisons. For example, I see a lot more 530i's than M45s around here even though the M45 beat it by a landslide in the comparo.

I mean, do you ever read articles or comparisons and THEN decide to buy a car? It seems like some people don't even know anything about the car before they buy it. They just go out and buy something without even looking at the competitors.

Most people just don't care, they are not enthuisists. I would go as far as guessing 85%+ of the population doesn't know what size the engine of there vehicle is, let alone anything about a competing vehicle. What sells cars to the masses is marketing, image, price and features. To be honest I don't think many normal folks know what a M45 is, but I bet they know what a BMW is.

I wish I could test drive every car in the world. Even the economy cars. It just seems like a fun thing to do. When I read about a car in the magazines, I want to drive it so that I know if they're being accurate.

When it comes to brand recognition, BMW>Infiniti.
