Mag Masters - DO NOT go there

My experience with Mag Masters in Santa Ana was absolutely HORRIBLE. The owners names are Tom and Liz. Here's my experience, I know people heard good things about them, but there are also bad things about them as well.

I dropped off one of my Volks to get it repaired for a bend on Wednesday. They said it should be done by Friday and they'll give me a call. Friday comes, nothing. I call on Monday she put me on hold, then hangs up and doesn't call back (she has my number on her copy of the receipt). Instead, I come and pick up my rim in person, no call on Tuesday. Said it'll take them 15 minutes. I wait, pay put them in the trunk. I go home inspect it and see that the repair was painted over O.o who paints Volks!? Not only that, it wasn't sanded, some over spray as well. Then I notice my Volk center caps aren't there, wtf. Then the valve-stem cap was replaced by some cheap plastic ones like from stock cars instead of my Rays cap. I'm furious, I call her on the phone, then come in the store to argue for 20-30 minutes. They couldn't find my Rays valve stem cap or my Volk center cap. Did not want to refund me. They attempted to look for it and said it wasn't their fault. Also they said and I quote, "we don't care for those things" referring to the valve stem cap. Then they show me their extra center caps and valve stem caps and told me to pick one... from their other customers. I was furious. Then they start shooing me out and calling me a liar. They do a horrible job, have the worst customer service I have ever seen. They are also over priced.

Cliffs:
brought 1 rim in for repair
horrible customer service and business sense
missing center cap, wrong valve-stem cap, horrible job
argued for 20 minutes, kicked out

now: i have to spend $30 on a new center cap, another $85-150 for a proper repair.

stay away from Mag Masters, I suggest Bolt On in Gardena instead. I will be bringing my rims there.

should've hit me up man - I would've told you to avoid MM at all costs. There's actually a shop that's down the street from MM and does head/shoulders better work. You'd be surprised how many people go to Mag Masters just to end up going to him instead.

If you paid with a credit card (and I hope you did), do a chargeback.

Why did you wait till you got home to look at the repair? Sorry but stupid you for not opening the box right then and there and going over the wheel with the shop.

When I had my wheels repaired, I had them inventory everything. They wrote it all right on the receipt.

opening a box? lol, i highly doubt mag-masters gave him any box when returning the repaired wheel to him.

NSXNEXT is right though, you should've inspected it right then and there. Picking up repaired wheels is like dropping your car off @ a bodyshop. You gotta take a good look at it then and there to see if they did a good job.

Not every business is run as well as Backyard Creations.

Yeap, WRS is the place to go. I had a real bad incident with MM about 7 years ago where they "misplaced" some parts I had brought to them.

Used WRS many times, great group!

I agree I have used WRS and they are head and shoulders above any other company I used for wheel repairs and I have used several because of these L.A. potholes.

WRS even repaired a wheel that several shops said they weren't capable of repairing and they do it for less than most other shops charge.

you should have popped the center cap out before you dropped off the rim.

sounds like a shitty place to do business with.
