M3 engine question
M3 engine question
Hey, I hate when people act like they know about something, when they don't. Basically, me and a bunch of guys were talking about cars. One of the guys' brother has an M3 so we eventually started talking about the M3. I asked him if his brother had any problems with the engine. My friend said no and then all the other guys wanted to know why I asked that. Well, I am the only one in the group that really likes and knows about cars, the others are the kind that just like cars, but don't know much (I am sure u know the type). Well all of them started arguing with me and saying how the engines don't blow and they are reliable cars. They think that I heard about maybe one incident and I’m exaggerating it. Well can u help me find any proof? Stats, etc.? Thanks guys!!
Doesn't Tom2 have an M3 w/ a blown engine?

Some people don't know what they are talking about. They think just because it says BMW it is perfect.
Let's keep this in perspective...the M3 engine failure registry shows 89 reported cases. Let's say the actual number of engine failures is four times the number reported to that site. With BMW having brought roughly 12,000 M3s to America to date, that represents less than 3% of US-bound production. And most of the failures have been handled satisfactorily by BMWNA.
Of course, that doesn't help much if you happen to be one of the unlucky ones...

It's not a high %, but let them look at this...
M3 Engine faillure logs.

This is a low production car though.... So less failures can be taken a little more seriously.
