Infiniti is now outselling Acura. That will likely change soon with the new TSX and TL though.

Better be ok with that, considering the arrival of 128/135.

Audi has definitely some problems. Not obvious why.

Acura lost to Lexus and Infiniti. Who would have said this almost 20 years ago.

I thought Infinity has been outselling Acura the last several years. Don't think it's going to change right away through the 3G TL/TSX. It depends on what Acura is gonna do with the 4G coming out later on this year. Just my two cents ...

Am I missing something here?

TL 4269
TSX 2280
RL 548
= 13288 Total???

Maybe they factored in RDX & MDX sales into the total? Which would kinda discredit this report..

The 13288 total does include the SUVs from Acura.

Right....just like they included the Infiniti SUVs in the total.

This just highlights what has been stated over and over in this forum....that Acura is headed in the wrong direction right now. They need better and more exciting product. Basically, they're in the same position that Infiniti was in 6-8 years ago.

You think the new TSX and TL are going to help Acura?

In order for the TSX to catch up to the sales of the G, it'd have to surpass sales of the MKZ and A4, IS, ES, CTS, and C class. With the TL having to start below the IS and move forward.

Perhaps you forgot to add the red text to your post. Even with the improvements to the TSX and the TL, I really don't see it making that big of a dent in their losing market share.

A friggin' lincoln MKZ is selling more than a TSX. and and

I think the TSX's success may end with the 09 model. Doesn't offer much more than the outgoing model, and the competition has grown. And I can't wait to hear everyone blame it on the grille when in fact it's the whole package that has become stale.

Where are the little cool things like LED tail lights? Why have the LED turn signals on the side mirrors look like they came off of a Scion tC, instead of being like the old model? And close to 30K and only a single CD player? The 6-disc changer is part of an optional package?!

I think that a new TL/TSX will reverse the downward trend. Will it "fix" Acura? Of course not, but it will be a helluva lot better than trying to sell two models that are 4 years old.

Go Go CTS! That's a strong month!

And yes, Audi is hurting ... It's their horrific depreciation.

Did infiniti have problems selling a 4 year old G? I'm asking for real, I don't know the numbers, so I gotta ask.

Ace in the hole for Acura is the new 2.2i-CDTi variant of the TSX due in late '09.

I'm even thinking about buying one myself.

Infiniti is doing fantastic. As much as I love Honda and Acura, I am glad to see Infiniti finally living up to its potential. Their latest cars are fantastic and will only improve by the years. This is the best their lineup has ever been.

As for Acura, I'm 100% positive that they will still outsell Infiniti when it comes to full-year sales. Acura's lineup is currently in a TERRIBLE position. It has two cars that are in it's 5th model year and another that is in it's 4th model year. Even with everything going against them though, sales are still respectable. We all know that the Tier One cars from Acura are supposed to start rolling in after the debut of the NSX in 2010. Starting at that time and continuing for a few years beyond, Acura will have a totally different face. Until then, Acura has the new TSX and TL to ride off of. I'm not putting any faith in the MMC RL. Sales of the new TSX and TL should be good enough to keep Acura stable until 2010.

P.S.
Senneca01, your numbers for BMW are incorrect. 1SICKLEX copy and pasted your post and posted it on ClubLexus and someone had to school him on it since he wasn't capable of doing it himself. We seriously need to ban that fanboys IP.

re:Jag XF
yes they are on sale.
probably the Jag dealerships just got maybe 3-4 (guessing) XFs in per dealership.
put one on the showroom floor, couple out on the lots and the ones out on the lots are for "demos" aka test drives.

Being too lazy to look, I'm 98% sure that yeah the G's numbers slipped incredibly (even the coupe) through the cycle of Gen 1. As I recall, the '08 numbers are not even hitting the '07's numbers.

I looked and as I said, G sedan sales are slipping in '08 compared to '07. The coupe is doing the heavy lifting.

I thought so too, before diesel prices jumped sky high. I don't think they're going to sell that well anymore, unfortunately. The supply of diesel is just too low to support a giant increase in diesel car sales. Car manufacturers were a little too late to the game this time. If the cars that are coming out in the next 1-3 years had come out a couple years ago, I think people would have gone for them, but now it is really questionable, IMO.

It's really too bad, because I was just about set on buying a diesel TSX. Now I'll have to see what diesel prices do in the next couple of years.
