Looking for suggestions on a project car

Hey All,

I've got a 07 TL-S and my daily driver and am looking for a project car. I am considering an older miata or CRX right now. Anybody have suggestions on anything esle? My budget is pretty low. Around 2k to buy whatever and then I will slowly mod it. Looking for something in decent shape and just doing easy bolt on mods: intake, exhaust, suspension. Just want a second car to beat around in/play with.

The newer 1990's Acura Legends are pretty nice.

miata may be fun, but crx with a nice engine swap would be awesome too

CRX or civic. Those cars have huge aftermarket support. So parts will be easy to get and cheap. I have just begun my 2 year or so project. SR20 in a nissan hardbody.

If your budget was a bit higher I'd say IS300, I am considering one, I found some for $5000~7000 range.

This doesn't really apply to now but I plan on keeping my TL forever. Whenever the engine finally goes, 20 years from now, I will put a turbo engine in it and make it rwd. We'll just have to see what kinds of engines are devoped between now and then. 500hp rwd TL. Sounds awesome. Though it would just be an Acura on the outside but something else on the inside.

I say Miata, its a little less mainstream then the CRX. Even a first gen Supra.

88-92 Supra Turbo is a good project car for around $1-3k. Just make sure the headgasket isn't blown if your buying and if it isn't make sure to torque down the head bolts to 87lb and get a metal head gasket.

CRX, just make sure its not infected with mass Honda cancer around the quarter panes and rockers. Even with a simple B16 swap, they are alot of fun being that they are so light (my friends Si weighs about 1900 lbs)

It can get kinda expensive because of the electrical issues but that would be my choice.

Either a M6/M635CSi or a M5/M535i if you can find one.

I love both those cars. I would love to have either of them (partial to the M5 I think).

If I won the lottery, I'd have both these cars in my garage ...
