Looking into new SUV
Just wanted to see what you guys recommend... Family was looking into getting a new luxury SUV. Shopping around for options... So far have only test drove the new Range Rover Sport. Any suggestions?

What are you looking for in a SUV? Does occupant capacity matter or what about max towing ratings? We need more information to give you a good suggestion.
Until then, I suggest you get an Audi Allroad. One, because wagons are awesome. Two, because it fills your "luxury" requirement. And three, because very few people really NEED a SUV. A wagon will do the same duties while looking better and using less gas

Since OP offered no criteria whatsoever, I'm going to recommend the upcoming Bentley Bentayga, RR autobiography, or Porsche Cayenne Turbo S.

Sorry guys, i realized i shoildve put some criteria lol. Looking to spend from 60-90k .. 5 seats, its going to be daily lady driven, mostly just a work commute, grocery getter and the occasional family road trip. Also winters get bad here so thats a factor.

Acura MDX or Jeep Grand Cherokee. Both are less than your budget, reliable, luxury, and more than capable of handling your criteria.

2024 Honda Civic Type R
Does the wifey prefer a certain brand/country of origin?
Does she like lots of power?
Seats 5 is tough because a lot of high-end SUVs have a third row.
Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT® 4X4
Dodge Durango R/T AWD
Audi SQ5 Prestige
Porsche Cayenne S
BMW X5 xDrive50i (or X5 M, just a bit over $90k)
Lexus LX 570
Mercedes-Benz ML400 (or splurge and get the ML63. GL seats 7, would you want that?)
2016 Honda Pilot (save a buttload of cash and buy some property with it)
I'd avoid Land Rover/Range Rover unless you don't mind your wife to be without her car at times (it will be in the shop).
For what it's worth, I'd personally look at the Porsche Cayenne and Audi SQ5 for luxury performance, or the Jeep GC and Dodge Durango for sporty performance with luxury. Or I'd buy the Honda with all the bells and whistles and save a ton of cash.
Or if you're spend-happy I'd just spend a bit more and get the Mercedes-Benz AMG E63 S Wagon and have all the space you need and be the baddest mother-fer on the planet (or CTS-V wagon!).

Not sure how pricing translates to CDN...but for these types of cars, i would NOT consider buying. If its for the wife, I would just lease something nice.

I'm guessing they are looking the territory of:
X5
Rx350
Q5
Jeep Grand Cherokee
RR sport
Porsche Cayenne
MB ML350 or whatever it is now.

If I was going luxury, I'd go for an upgraded version of my 4Runner and get a Lexus GX460 or 470. My other option would definitely be a Porsche Cayenne

If it's for your wife, just get her a nice X5 or something.

You can't go wrong with a lm002, pick up the kids at school, make a run to the grocery store, fight off the insurgents and rebel forces

The guy in Culver City that owns the 76 station has 2 Unimogs, 1 LM002, 3 Benz 600 Grosser (lot of people know the guy)
Last time I talked to him, (he always has the cars at the gas station), I don't think 5 people or 60K would have gotten him to give up his LM002
4 tires for the LM002 I believe are $12,500
I rather own a h1 Alpha, but it doesn't fit 5 people

Thanks guys for the awesome insight!! And its for my mom, not my wife haha. Im only 18 but yeah was asking on behalf of my dad. And the mom keeps changing her mind !! Turns out she would rather get a car now given that I got the TL, dad has his truck and sisters not keen on getting a license lol. I think we've decided on the TLX considering how much she loved the TL before it was passed down to me! Seems like a great car with a more friendly price and she seems happy with the decision thus far!

All is right in the world
TLX is the answers to ALL of the world's answers.
Get the 4 cyl, per the forum, it is faster than the V6
Best car in the world
And you save 55k from you 90k budget

Personally, I'd take the Unimog over any other utility vehicle on the planet. I fawking love those things.

Tell her to get a fully-loaded Accord instead. Or wait for the 2016 refresh.
