Half the time we would have said he got followed home by a toothless cougar in a rusted Mercury Capri (the convertible not the rebadged Mustang).

The reaction of the "regulars" here strikes me as nothing more than a "he's with us" mentality.

If Moog or Yummy or Jesal had done that, they would have been ripped just like SB was. The only difference is that their reaction wouldn't have been flying off the handle.

I'm all for moderation but how about we have some perspective first.
You don't know me!!!....I might have been really pissed!!!

I love the R8 V10. I don't care if it's not the quickest to 60 or the fastest around the 'Ring. I just love that car.

I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the means.

For the eagle eyed thread viewer, the road sign in the pic says CA-27, Topanga Canyon Road. Stuff like this:

Not quite Decker Canyon (CA-23):

Posted because I was talking to a friend in Texas who has no idea what canyon roads look like. Poor bastard.

I don't know you personally, and while this story was mildly interesting to me, I still am mature and secure enough to where I don't feel the need to go searching through online forums and grabbing up any opportunity to make mean, unprovoked comment to someone who innocently posted on a forum, which is apparently what these other idiots did...

I would LOVE to drive that road. Too bad we don't have anything like that here in T.O.

I stop to drool every time I see one of those.

First one I ever saw was in Vegas and it was before they even came out over here. It had German plates and all. I presume he was coming back from the race track, since that's the direction he was coming from.

Nice story man! Not sure if I have seen the v10 yet or not.

I've seen one in my neighborhood several times and all I can think is, "How can anybody who lives in my neighborhood afford to drive an R8?, And moreover, if they can, why not move out of this crappy neighborhood."

some people don't care really about what their appearance is. Perfect example is an old business friend of mine. He has a Range Rover, an F430, and 360 Modena and a BMW750 all bought new and still lives in the 3 bed 2 bath house be bought 5 years ago. (neighborhood isn't that bad). I asked him once about it and he said, "look, I'm one person and sleep in one room at night, I don't need 15 bedrooms or 18 bathrooms. I'm content with my home and the memories I have in it. As far as my cars go, they give me the thrill and comfort that I ask of them."

I guess some individuals value an automobile more the Real Estate.

Some do

Or vice versa, I know of multi-millionaires with a massive 10,000+ sq ft home with top of the line furniture and craftsmanship. Guess what they drive? His and her Honda Accords and I think they're both close to 10 years old.

I wish I could have a nice run with a supercar

I feel like its really rare they drive spiritedly

I know if I had one I might have a lot of tickets and would try to visit a track a couple times a month.

Drove my bosses 1976 Ferrari 365 GT4BB in 1987. I never got it out of 2nd gear (mainly because he was sitting next to me), but that 12 just kept winding up! Just looked it up and for some reason I thought it was purple but they look dark blue in the photo's on Google.

Back in the mid-80's I was working on an 8+ month contract at a wholesale liquor distributor company. One day I was eating in their little "lunch room" area and the owner came in a started going through the refrigerator and opening employees' lunch containers, looking for something to drink. He found a juice of some type and took it. They guy was worth millions.
