I think the wing adds character. I think it looks too much like a normal Lancer (POS) with the smaller wing. The car deserves attention, and the wing just attracts more of it.

Just my opinion.

Don't get me wrong, it looks okay with the smaller wing, too...but if you're dropping big money on a car that _comes_ with a huge wing you might as well leave it on and enjoy the more aggressive look.

but then again, I suppose I _am_ biased in this regards...

 

the wing was dope until EVERYONE started copying it and throwing it on every car. I think it looks good, but to most people who think it's just a ricer wing don't know. It's the ricer wing, the one everyone duplicates and throws on everything.

I'd ditch the wing for a sleeper look though

MInch was right, it looks like a regular lancer now from the back.

 

Small wing just doesn't look right, there is a guy on the Evo board actually who picked his car up with the small spoiler and is having the big one installed (decided he didn't like the small spoiler, needs a new trunk as well I think).

The tall spoiler in person is really impressive, very well made and the carbon fiber center section looks awesome.

Only problem I see with the big spoiler is actually preventing it from being ripped off the car by some f*ing A-hole.

I'm waiting on the Blue color.

Looks much better with the Evo VII tails.....the white wheels look like shit on this one though.

 

id like to see one minus wing completely and with the regular non f&f style tails

well this big wing is a trademark EVO rally car style... it looks good in my opinion...

the evo VIII tails def. look better than altezza style ones for US Evo

 

those red tails are nice. That's a huge improvement over stock.

Hmmm...I thought I'd like the smaller one but the big one actually does go well with the character of the car. Those clear tails are total.......

 

I'd like to see someone with the Evo VII tails, wingless, and somehow make the front end less agressive. Then drive it around as a regular Lancer.

I'm getting the Evo based on its performance merits, then looks......I love Rally inspired vehicles.

Not quite understanding this, the M3 is a tad over $53k (the way I equipped it) and the Viper was $76k.

What am I comparing to them? A $30k Evo?

Not a chance, although I do think the Evo will be more fun to drive than the M3.

 

people don't buy evos 2 win beauty contests...they buy it b/c its one of the meanest motherfuckers out on the street today....u drop 4k and some change, and u'll have z06s looking stupid....now, try 2 do that w/a cl/350z, even a e46 m3...and u'll realize how amazing the new evo8 and sti are

 

btw, iMO the evo8 doesn't look ugly (the evo7 tails help alot), and it looks 10x better than an sti exterior wise....just wait till u see one in ur rearview mirror approaching u and picking up spd, esp. w/the hids on, its just sick!

 

Lose the big wing and those god-awful altezzas.

the wing is what distinguishes an evolution from a plain lancer. its been like that from the beginning of the evo model. that blue one with the small wing looks hideous. if i had an evo i'd keep the stock wing and IMMEDIATELY change to JDM VII tails and get a new front bumper
