a little off topic-E55

My dad called me last night and I met him at the Brumos dealer here in town looking at other cars...

I rode with him, a salesman and a friend of his in a new E55. OMFG! His Porsche turbo is a freaking raw brute, but sitting in the backseat of a sedan that feels almost as brutish--and without shifting at all--is unfu(kingreal!!!

With 4 people on board, the car pulled to 150mph in less than 20 seconds after pulling normally onto the highway. It was so freakin' insane how fast and how stable the car felt...This car is truly my dream ride: Quiet as a vault, very stable, brute power, all the luxury and space one under 6'3" could ever want, luggage space, Corvette killing prowess...All for $75k...Wow...

I need a raise or a handout...

My sister has a new CL55 and it is unbelievable in HP. I have never driven a finer auto. It is brutally fast and it just doesn't quit. You should have seen the face on my 16 year old son when I let him drive!

Um, I don't know you, you don't know me and you certainly don't know my dad. With an '03 Benz ute, an '02 S sedan and an '03 Porsche Turbo in his driveway, his friend with 3 Porsche's and a Benz all from the same dealer--one who they sit with for Sebring and the 24 hours of Daytona, and the same two guys who are in line with a third guy to get the coming Carrera GT, you get to pretty much do and drive what and how you want. Is this gonna turn into an LS1.com pi$$ing match? I rode in a car, I ain't buyin' it, so give it a rest spdy...

That being said, it was the salesman driving. My dad has never driven his Turbo over 125mph as he's a scared, older man too worried about a fu(kin' ticket to utilize a perfect piece of machinery...

Uh oh when rich boys are offended they emphisize just how rich they really are. Just becuase your dad and his freind might own sports car doesn't mean that a salesman is going to drive 150mph

i thought the 7 speed comes on the v8s, not the amg models?
also, doesnt it only apply to s and cl class.

pretty sure its for any v8 model, i can't wait to see the C55 no more supercharged V6 in the C32 model, it will have the 5.5 liter engine (no supercharger though) but hp is up to 368 HP in a civic sized car it should fly for its size

Here's your problem, putz: You are @$$uming too much and are too eager to jump on someone. Nowhere in any post does it even hint that I am rich. Obviously, if my father was test driving an E55, he'd be at least upper-middle class...

I'm nothing but a working class, early 30's guy who has never accepted any handout from my parents at all (and I remind myself why I have stupidly been this way for much too long). I drive an Acura for Christ's sake...Again, this post had nothing to do with money, or like someone esle posted about "his" new Benz, it was never inferred it was mine or for me. The second post was directing you to the fact that someone else, who had money, was test driving a vehicle sold at his buddy Snodgrass' dealership. So, conceivably, he could indeed drive what and how he wanted. I was giving you something to clarify your misguided response, but again, you chose to @SSume again.

Neither you nor I will be in a position to drive a tester that way unless our cash is laying on the table, and now I've appropriately assumed by your anti-elitist, misinformed comments that you do not have the $$$ either...

Quit trying to pee on the wrong guy, and brush up on your reading comprehension and inference skills, spdy. And if it makes you feel any better I'll concede your di(k is bigger...Quit while you're behind...

I thought it was a 6 spd auto, but maybe I was wrong...I was paying attention more to the lunch rolling around in my stomach than details...

The 7spd comes on the 500 models, the AMGs still have the 5spd auto.
