I've been looking for a USED RDX lately and been coming across some dealers that gives a LIFETIME power train warranty.

Of course, they're some T&C, but what gives?

This is an example of dealers 'promise':

Eligible on all used cars less than 8 years old and under 100,000 miles

Coverage begins immediately

Additional protection available specifically designed to "wrap around" this exclusive coverage

Engine:

cylinder block and cylinder head and all internally lubricated parts, turbocharger, supercharger, harmonic balancer, timing gear, chain and belt, timing cover, intake and exhaust manifolds, valve covers, oil pan, and engine mounts.

Transmission:

transmission case and all internally lubricated parts, torque converter, flywheel / flex plate, vacuum modulator and transmission mounts


Is this genuine? Is it a marketing ploy? Deductibles?

 

do they state that you have to have all services done at the dealership?

 

Read the whole agreement. If you could get that on motor mounts and timing belts, that would be a deal.
