License plate frames?

Anyone have any really different license plate frames on their cars? I personally have a simple fake carbon fiber frame on mine but some have commented on it saying it looks really cool. Is there even a real carbon fiber frame out there? I don't know why I'm on this kick, oh, well maybe because I work for an auto accessory company and the license plate frame guy asked me? LOL! I thought a carbon fiber frame with either brushed aluminum or stainless trim would be cool. Maybe an interchangeable bezel? Anyone have any comments on this? I'm just curious if anyone even ever thinks about license plate frames of if they're usually just an after thought. Well, if you've read this you deserve a fun picture of one of our license plate frames on a car that a co-worker and I ran across in a parking lot last week. Here you go:

Meh.... I prefer just plain black frames from Target. No lettering.

Carbon fiber is meant to reduce weight. Plus I think it looks pretty ugly. Then again, I'm the kind of guy that would only put a carbon fiber hood on his car if it was painted.

^ I gotcha. See I like the look of carbon fiber, the weight benefit to me is secondary. Obviously a carbon fiber frame isn't going to save you an weight unless you're replacing a heavy metal one, but plastic would weight the same anyway, so most frames are just carbon fiber painted.

Thanks for the input.

X2 on a plain black metal one...and that is only to prevent the license plate from banging the trunk when I close the lid.

X 3 for other family cars.

The TL has a (cheap) chrome-plated plastic frame with some simple design lines molded on it over a clear plate cover.

but my plate alone was leaving plenty of marks back there....

the frame probably make it worse....but at least cover the scratches

I got flack for having my dealer frame on my car, so i switched it for the one i got with my intake.
I think a CF or brushed aluminum frame would look cool though

I've got Yankees frames on my car now, but I gotta change them or do something cause every time I shut the trunk they go BZZZZZZZZZZZAHHHHHHHH. IDK if it's scratching the paint, but it's real annoying

I put some black chrome frames on mine...I like 'em.

Saw a guy rolling in a shitbox tercel and he had this gaudy-ass gold plate frame that said:

------- I Like Big Butts -----
| |
| |
----- And I Cannot Lie------

Was great!

They have mine too. It came up as the first example under Acura. I forgot I that I had TL Type S, not just Type S.
