soopa already figured it out in another thread and didnt throw the hammer...so I have no idea what that means right now.
Anyway, I'm not trying to start a fight. I just don't think that wolfe has done anything to deserve being called a troll.

Thanks for sticking up for me, CarForAllSeasons. . . at least someone understands what these forums are about.
And the rest of you, don't you realize that it's OK for people to have opinions other than your own? Just because I think the IS350 is superior to the G35 doesn't make (1) me right or (2) you wrong. It's simply my opinion. Sure, I think I'm right, and you think you're right, but grow up, these forums are about the exchange of opinions and I think I make some rather valid points about Lexus's mission to build a superior small luxury sedan.

Oh but it is so true.
IS350 vs 07 G35
IS350 40k+, 45k with all options
G35 $33-35k loaded with all options
Handling
g35--
The 18-inch shoes (225/50-18 front) — the base rubber is 17-inch all-seasons — deliver grip that’s a little better than the previous G35 managed: 0.87 g versus 0.85, but neither number is impressive by the standards of this class. What is impressive is the G35’s nifty footwork on a set of switchbacks or that secret stretch of country road where you just know your transit times are world-class.
This honey can dance as fast as you can pedal, without a misstep and without punishing its partner in the ride department. Besides its more aggressive tires, the Sport 6MT employs firmer rear dampers and harder steering-rack bushings. It’s a setup that delivers Bimmer-esque compliance, and if the 3-series still holds an edge in this area, the distinctions have become paper thin.
G35 Sport models also have heftier brakes — bigger rotors, beefier single-piston calipers — that pay off in improved performance. The brake pedal felt a little long and a tad squishy, but our test car needed only 160 feet to stop from 70 mph, a number that would have been best in test in that October comparo.
IS350 --
The appetite for curves is bigger than in any Toyota product we have ever tried, the stopping power mighty — 167 feet from 70 mph — surpassing the other cars both in immediacy and effectiveness.
-- Can't locate the handling spec of the IS350 anywhere. But we do know it doesn't handle as well as the G35 because its geared towards luxury.
Performance = DRAW (G35 wasn't even broken in)
g35 -
We took our test car to the track, where it hunkered down and dashed to 60 mph in 5.2 seconds, covering the quarter-mile in 13.9 seconds at 103. Hmm, that is swell, and considerably quicker than the last G35 we tested (0 to 60 in 5.9 seconds and the quarter in 14.6 at 98 mph) as well as just a blink behind the IS350. More impressive still, our G35 tester went to the track with fewer than 250 miles on the odo. That’s like putting an Olympic sprinter in the starting blocks in his street clothes. What’ll it do with a proper break-in? We look forward to finding out.
IS350 -
It also has 306 ponies from an all-new 3.5-liter V-6, enough to make 60 mph in 5.1 seconds and sear your quarter-mile in 13.7 seconds at 104 mph with a few flicks of the steering-wheel paddles controlling the six-speed automatic. Every other car here sucks its dust. Welcome to the most exuberant Lexus ever built
Interior materials
- G35 Dash/doors has real alum trim or wood (depending on model)
- IS350 painted plastics on doors and dash, gaps on panels. Wood is a option and makes it look much better but is not standard.
- G35 Seats are softer, more supportive over the IS350.
- IS350 has heated/AirCooled Seats

this thread is funny...the OP was looking at IS250 and i was wondering why would anyone buy an IS250 over a G35...no one was comparing an IS350 to a G35...but even then i would still take a G35 over the IS350

pimpin-TL, I never argued that the IS350 was sportier than the G35; I know better than to do that. I've insisted from the beginning that Lexus's offering is more luxurious and "special" than the competition (special here is defined by the little list of IS features I initially presented). The differences in acceleration are negligible, and yes, the G35 will outhandle the IS. It still doesn't quite hit the corners like the class leading 335i, though.
Nevertheless, your futile arguments about "real" metal trim are funny. Lexus uses some of the finest plastics in the business, and their switchgear is unrivaled. Look at any of their cars, even the new LS460. It has metal-look plastic all over the place; are you going to argue about that, too?
And size? Come on. . . bigger doesn't mean better; it all depends on what the customer is shopping for. If you're considering that a point in the G35's favor, it's merely an indication of your preferences.
Oh, and price. Yes, yes, the IS350 is more expensive than the G35. And guess what, you get what you pay for. I should've known better than to expect an arrogant TL driver to appreciate the virtues of a Lexus.

People arguing the use of real wood in these cars is laughable. Have you seen what it looks like?
The wood in a g35 is a THIN wood veneer that slides in through the side. I can not speak of the final FF of the G because I only spent time in prototypes that were meant to be taken apart and reconfigured. But the initial quality of those were pretty good.

Car, its obvious your a troll from all your posts.
That pic has nothing that is QUALITY. Look at a G and with the standard Alum trim, etc it looks very nice.
FF aspect, no.
I am done here. I don't argue with trolls.

Quality is more than real metal trim. Countless cars use fake metal materials. Why? because they wear better. If you'd like to take a quick look at a fingerprint-filled navigation-less IS and say it's cheap because its dash uses plastic, you're far more ignorant than everyone already thinks you are.
Go push the buttons in these cars. Use the A/C. Feel the doors close with authority or lack thereof. Observe their road noise at speed. Study the smoothness of the 6 speed automatics. The IS has significant advantages in these areas, but it seems you're too biased and uninformed to know the difference.

FF is about the same on both. one is more luxury one is more sport. Ive said before and I say it again.

This topic I think has ran its course though.
Both are great cars, both have there plus's and negatives. Just depends which one YOU will like. When I drove all three and after owning two G35s, the 07 G35 didn't do it for me. The IS350 was a close call but the interior room was not what I liked. I got the TL instead and a RL. I am happy with both the cars and I saved money in the end.
