I love the M45, but I would've gotten it in black on black.

But cool car!

Now, if Infiniti revises the interior and makes the gauges blue like in the new G35 sedan, it would be a perfect car to me!

Of course people are going to tell you they look nice in person. Politeness goes out the door on a message board, and you're really not going to get a more honest opinion.

I'd be curious what others would say about those rims on an M45 board. I bet the sentiment would be the same.

I really like the car, except the color matching the wheels, and the type of wheel kinda threw me off.

I really like what you did with the car itself, just not the wheels.

I have color matched wheels on my Mustang - my only problem with yours is that it the color is overkill (too much surface area). Cut down on the number of spokes and everything will be fine. It honestly looks like a solid wheel.

You post it on a public forum and ask for opinions... then when you get them you go into the bulletin board equivalent of a hissy fit by calling all members close minded and the rest of that retarded post. Car may be hot, but the maturity (or lack of) came through loud and clear there. You're obviously looking for reassurance otherwise you wouldn't have posted the pics and replied as you did... but who cares what other people think, as long as you like it? And if others don't like it, well, tough shit for you... you're asking for opinions on a public forum... so be able to handle them when they're negative without resorting to name calling.

And for the record, love the car even though I'm not a fan of red. Looks good though. Rims, gotta agree with Dan, they look like fans in any color... not my style.

2) Make sure you buy COOL racing, tuner wheels such as Enkei. And if you have an Acura, you need to buy Ronjons and that's it!! God help you if you buy anything else!!! (no disrespect to Ron - I've met him in person and he knows I respect him)
3) Gunmetal or black wheels look hot on anything. You could have a car that's 15 different colors and the hood is primer, but if you have a set of 18'' gunmetal wheels you're the man!
4) Make sure the wheel weighs less than 15 pounds so it could bend in 14 minutes after you hit a coin in the street.
5) The wheel must be less than 22 inches, even if you drive a monster truck or a Hummer. In fact, anything over 19's is ghetto!!! (then why would these wheel companies keep making bigger wheels, is what I ask)
AND, presenting the newest guideline:
6) Your car isn't your wardrobe. Why should you match a set of wheels to the car's exterior color, even if that appears to be the ''in'' way for wheels to be displayed given the popularity of the look at car shows and other events?

Alright, glad we got that over with.

1) Most all aftermarket chrome wheels are JUNK, chrome wheels just tend to have more adventurous style that most wouldn't like. Most inexpensive chrome wheels are not really chrome, just a chrome "tape". Chroming aluminum actually makes it weaker and heavier. Chrome wheels also seem to draw attention, something a lot of people don't want.
2) As far as cheap wheels go enkei's are pretty good and RonJon's are fantastic, with that said I have never been a fan of tuner wheels - nothing against any particular brand just my taste.
3) Not familiar with that rule, but its good to make broad generalized statements
4) Are you fucking stupid? Light weight wheels actually give a performance advantage, and with a quality forged wheel it will actually be stronger at a lighter weight. Look into rotational mass and axial inertia to understand why there is a gain and why a few pounds can make a HUGE difference.
5) This is part two of my answer number 4, its about performance, axial inertia is a killer and with large diameter wheels your moving the mass further from the center point of the wheel which is why a 20lbs 17" wheel will outperform a 20lbs 20" wheel, the size/weight its much more important how its distributed. In addition to performance you lose fuel economy as well, another price to pay for "dubs"
6) Personal taste will remain just that, personal taste. One man likes Blonde's another likes Brunette's who's to say which is right. If the wheels had less spoke area(like a HRE 547 for example) I would be much more into a painted to match wheel... but what can I say I am a fan of brunette's.

In closing, if you didn't get so defensive when people posted there comments not only about your car but about you, you probably wouldn't feel you had so much to prove. Seriously who gives a rats ass what a group of people at an acura forum think of you or your car? Do what makes YOU happy.

This same situation came to be last time you posted because people questioned why someone your age had such a car, while a valid question, its nothing to get defensive over. Who care's your parents help with the insurance, for that matter who cares if a rich uncle bought you the car(not saying that is the case)... the point I am trying to make is getting defensive and mad only fuels further criticism.

All-in-all, you are right in some ways, but I was just making a joke about the kinds of wheels you guys like on here. I was obviously being sarcastic. You're the ''Tireguy'' so you know your wheels. I just feel like no one likes unique things on this board, which would bring up the question as to why I would even bother posting subjective things in the first place if I know what reaction I'm going to get. Just figured my car was different than most others, so I'd post it since you guys are all car fans. That's all. I don't feel the need to prove anything to anyone on here - why I have the car I have, why I have the rims I bought, how I could afford an M45.
Either way, I know most of you guys don't like it because the car is very flashy, and since I'm a young kid I still have that foolish swagger that wants to show off now and then. It's a part of growing up, of course.
Also, I have the rims I bought because I wanted 22's (19's stock, 20's aftermarket? I don't think so.. not worth the money for one inch) and there are like 6 one-piece wheels out there in 22'' that'll fit on an M45. The Zenetti Spartan happens to be the nicest one out of all of them, and I didn't want to spend $6,000 on Asantis or HREs or MHTs. I like my wheels - I like the way they look, I get a good reaction from everyone around my way, and I'm proud of my car and I wanted to display it. I just don't know why everyone has to be so harsh on this board. I'm sure if a moderator had my car and posted it everyone would give reactions like, ''oh nice car... the wheels are a little full-faced though'' instead of making puke smilies. Whatever... I won't post anything else on this board involving my car, no biggie. And for the record, I wasn't getting mad - I'm in the NYU library right now writing a 12-page paper while I'm posting on here.

By the way Joe, I'm on an M45 board and nearly everyone likes my car. There's another guy that works for WCC and he has the same color in an M35 with the colormatched in 22'', only they are Asantis.

That's all... thanks.

Chill out man. You posted on a public forum and asked for opinions. AZ isn't full of yes men. To be perfectly honest, if I were driving in NYC and I saw your car, I'd probably say "that guy ruined that M45". Why? Because it looks ghetto and it isn't befitting of a car of that calibre. Someone, somewhere in Japan took the time and pain to design the car to handle and ride and compete with the world's class leading sedans such as the BMW 5 series. And succeeded. And you went and ruined that entire philosphy by sticking some ugly ass, "please look at me because I need attention" wheels on it, that serve no functional purpose, and now your mad because other forum members don't like your car.

Nice car, but grow up.

EDIT: read some of your previous threads. I've defended you before when people we're calling you out on your age and stating that you were too young to have an M45. But in this case you just flat out wrong - learn to take criticism.

Actually, you couldn't be further from the truth. The mods like to give each other shit more then we do with members. Sure, some of the members may post stuff like that to kiss ass... but don't worry, they get ripped on by the other mods in the mod forum

everyone on the board is going to have a different opinion. if you like it, then thats all you should be concerned about it. me personally, i like the car but when it comes to the wheels.... im just not feelin it. i think 22's are WAYYY to big for that car. im not diggin the style either. but to each his own. i think it would look better on a set of 20's with a nice drop. keep hustlin...

How much more fun is the G35 than the TSX? Did you get the G35x or just G35?

I have a G35x permium package

The G is a ROCKET compared to the TSX, but the TSX is by no means a fast car and I knew that when I purchased one. In terms of handling the G seems to be able to take turns faster then the TSX, but the G has more body roll, I did have a comptech RSB on the TSX in the G's defense and it did make a large improvement on the TSX when I installed it. In fact sway bars are the one upgrade I am looking to do when they become available, they are super easy to change and will with out a doubt make me happier behind the wheel.

We had light snow here today, and with the VDC off I hung the car sideways in my parking lot a bit this morning and it was a lot of fun doing a little AWD drifting. I miss the manual from the TSX, but the auto in the G is no slouch. The sport mode seems foolish, but the manual shift mode is great, in particular with downshifts, it sounds like a F1 car downshifting. Coming from the Acura I love the exhaust note and at times think its too loud, yet the infiniti guys are complaining about how quiet it is! I went to pass someone on the highway the second day I had the car and punched the gas at 65 and blew by the person, I looked down when I passed him and I was going 105 and still going, I backed out right away. It takes a little getting used to having an extra 106hp, in particular when your used to driving a rev happy, low torque car. The steering wheels is AMAZING, its probably the best steering wheel I've felt on a car this side of $80k. Speaking of the steering it communicates with the driver much more then the TSX, I get more "feel of the road". Even though the G is an auto it engine brakes very well and automatically does little throttle burps as you slow to downshift on its own, most cars don't do that. Over all the car feels less tossable, its heavier, and has more body roll, though its very sure footed and as I found out earlier today very graceful and controlable as it breaks free.

That's my thoughts on the fun to drive differences between the two, I will have a more organized and detailed review ready in a few days... I have a lot of time behind the wheel and a good grasp of what the car's strengths and weaknesses are.

I never hated black wheels, but I do hate color-matched wheels. That's overdoing it, IMO. I have black wheels on my Scion shitbox. They aren't totally black though, they have both black and alloy look to it. Do they look bad? Not in my opinion, I think it complements the color of the car rather nicely (Yellow), and I can't think of anyone that said they looked bad on the car, more power to me I guess. I could have went with a bigger wheel, but why the f--- would I need to put 19" wheels with rubberbands for the brooklyn streets? THAT would be just plain stupid. 17" wheels with thicker rubber to handle the potholes works beter for me. FORM over FUNCTION

Yeah Acura did a pretty poor job on them. The only thing I wouldn't want to take from the 07.

Amen. Definitely one of THE ugliest set of wheels I have ever seen on any car in recent memory. I don't like them at all.
