Similar to how I lost my TL-s, but in my case, rear camber kits snapped...

Not often at all. MANY MANY people run Koni shocks and this is the first I have heard this happening.

Daym.. Looked like it had a problem for awhile judging from the rust. I hope Koni steps up and fixes what went wrong as well

Shocks/Struts snap all the time. Not just Konis but every brand. I have personally seen Bilstein PS1 coilovers have a strut snap on my cousin's e46 m3. Also have read about every thing from monroe/kyb to koni/hal/bilsteins braking on all types of cars. It's just a manufacturer defect, whats the wtf for?

first time i've seen this on a koni, i've seen it w/ stock and other units. 99% of the time it was an install error (not tighting up enough, misaligned when installed, etc)
