Kid crashes his new STI and posts video

Went viral

Photo/Video How i crashed my brand new Sti - Subaru Impreza WRX STI Forums: IWSTI.com

Realized his stupidity and removed the video but someone made a copy here: https://photos.smugmug.com/Cars/2015...%20STi-640.mp4

The most savage reply here:
I registered here just to let you know that I got here from Reddit and also want to tell you that I downloaded the video + sent it to the oregon pd tip line. I also sent it to all major insurance companies usaa, geico, progressive, nationwide, allstate. I'll send it to others as I think of them. I had to compress it to insanely low quality, but I included your license plate and told them that I could send a better version at their request. You think deleting the video will save your sorry ass? (wait, you're not even sorry).

If you had been even a little remorseful, people would have taken it easy on you. But you're bragging how you can beat up the people telling you how much of a moron you are? Your phone number and address are easily found by all your posts and classifieds. I'm hoping that your insurance either denies your claim, or if they've paid out, they sue you for insurance fraud. They don't take kindly to reckless driving. You should be behind bars not only because you did something illegal, but the idea of killing someone doesn't seem to phase you at all. Wanna endanger yourself, take a bath with a toaster. Don't put others at risk idiot.

Good. Insurance and PD needs to know about this.

If you guys watch Matt Farah's One Take series, it's always great to see him do safe mountain driving when he gets stuck behind a slow driver on the twisties...he'll back off and either pull off and wait for a while or turn around...never pass illegally or do stupid crap like this.

THis may be another reason why WRX/STi insurance rates are supposedly sky high too.

I was laughing to myself thinking "Okay, here he's passing vehicle #2 on a double solid, they'll be the first ones there to witness the carnage." Turning on the windshield wipers didn't even help either, who'd a thunk it?

I've driven fast in cars... many times... but I've never put others at risk. If I did anything stupid I made sure I was the only one at risk. I also never drove above my skill level.

This kid was waaaaaay over his head and he has the video to prove it. He's extremely lucky he only took himself out...

What a fucking retard

No matter how many times youth are told to not post nudes, private info, videos like this that can get them in serious trouble, they still do. There's no hope for this one. Too bad Darwin didn't win here.

I still don't understand why he posted this and made a video of it all

by the way, Subaru STi with major understeer.. shiiiiiet... They need to fix that AWD system to oversteer.

sky high? try astronomical.. I was quoted over $1500 every 6 mo for $500 deductible and 100/300/100 coverage just for that car. my current costs are $800 every six for 2 legacies

I applaud the person that posted this, seems the only way he will (hopefully) learn is by getting caught and paying the price for his stupidity. And even then I'm not too sure.. This jerk could have easily taken someone else out on that road.. The obsession today with people posting stuff like this on social media is beyond comprehension...

His biggest crime is being boastful and showing no remorse IMO.

Been there, done that .. responsibly & irresponsibly.

One thing that has calmed down my driving habits over the years is doing an occasional track day ... nothing like pushing 10/10s without the risk of hurting anybody except yourself.

i think when my kids get to driving age, i'm going to do this for them... if they want to go fast and push, at least it isn't in public possibly killing someone else... that's one thing i'm glad that me and my friends grew up at the drag strip...

As you mentioned, most, if not all of us have done something we likely shouldn't have while behind the wheel. The difference is none of us took the time to make an edited video and posted it to the interwebs- especially with his license plate in plain view for everyone to see.

He might as well have sent the video to the police himself

Not all of us can say that unfortunately. But like these guys are saying below, it's less about what he did before the wreck than what he did after it. To post the video and not to own up to what he did is what's most disturbing. I have photos of my first car completely demolished because I was young and dumb, but I learned my lesson and was completely humbled by it. This kid obviously wasn't and needs a good foot in his a*s to realize that he easily could have killed more than just himself doing what he was doing.

^ Agreed... his actions are one thing, but he obviously learned nothing. Especially when you consider how many cars he's been through and how many tickets he had received BEFORE the accident.

Slot and RC, yes

RC is mainly vintage stuff. And by mainly I mean pretty much all...
