Ken Block's New 2010 Ford Focus RS

I'll take mine in blue please

I wouldn't get one over an Evo or an STi, maybe not even if it was AWD (depending on price). Still a very interesting car, would be nice if it came with AWD and a decent price though. If it were slightly above or near MS3 price, I'd have a hard time deciding between those two.
I remember on these tight back roads, some publication strangely compared the Focus RS with a GT-R and the reviewer preferred the RS. Probably would be the same compared to any other big car, but still. A lot of people who drive the GT-R love it, that's gotta mean something.

I heard there was a RS running around in Michigan. It was a while back though.

^That's true. I change my mind. This car probably warrants a test drive. Ford has a patented "Revo Knuckle" as its so called and it's supposed to drastically reduce torque steer.

Here's what I got from a Focus forum:
I personally wouldn't get an Evo or an STi as a daily driver, it's too harsh. I'd mainly get one if I was going for all out performance, hopefully with a softer DD and I kinda saw "FWD" and instantly I figured the RS wouldn't be great especially at higher power levels, but if it's easy to life with on a daily basis...

Here's what I got from a Focus forum:
"The new Ford Focus RS is equipped with an innovative front suspension system known as a ‘RevoKnuckle’, which is designed to reduce unwanted steering disturbance and torque steer, the impact of torque on steering in front-wheel driven vehicles. Torque steer occurs during hard acceleration, cornering or driving on uneven surfaces, when torque on the driven wheels exceeds grips levels. It is characterised by sudden turning force on the steering wheel and can be exacerbated by vehicles with wide tyres and limited-slip differentials. In Focus RS, the RevoKnuckle works in conjunction with a Quaife Automatic Torque Biasing limited-slip differential. Ford Team RS engineers have worked closely with Ford's Advanced Research Centre in Aachen, Germany to develop the RevoKnuckle technology specifically for the high performance Focus RS. It allows the simplicity of a traditional McPherson strut arrangement, but with geometry settings that minimize steering disturbances and torque steer, principally a reduction in steering offset."
Ford is an American car company, but they sell more cars in Europe than America. Ford also sells the better cars in Europe. Why is Ford so stupid? We will never know. I don't think Ford has any common sense. Shouldn't the country where the company was made get the most cars, and limit other countries from getting some cars? Like Japan? Honda/Toyota/Nissan don't have all their cars in the US Market, but have all of them in the Japanese market. How is it that Ford an American company has limits on the American market when they are an American company? Retards.
They should sell the Focus RS in America. It will pull a lot of sales.

I don't like how we don't get cars like the Focus RS either but many of these nice cars you see in Japan and Europe and not here are (drumroll please) produced in Japan and Europe. Obviously, crash test standards, emissions standards, LHD/RHD, etc. play a huge part in this. It's a lot more complicated than you think, just because it has the steering wheel on the left side doesn't mean shit. A lot of the foreign companies have plants in the US also, but that brings me to the next part of my post...
The NUMMI plant in Fremont. It was a joint venture between Toyota and GM and thus the union got their greedy little hands on it, and Toyota eventually realized it just wasn't worth it. Other foreign auto companies have plants in the US but the UAW doesn't have a stranglehold on them and thus its a lot cheaper to make their automobiles in the US. It was found that the average autoworker for Toyota in the US makes quite a lot less than a UAW worker, forgot what it was exactly but in a business where saving cents on a small part can make a huge difference, we're talking dollars.
I'd be a little more careful the next time I decide to call a hundreds-of-billions-of-dollars-worth multinational corporation that's been around since the 1900's a bunch of retards if I were you.
i heard about it long time ago i hope they will sell it in US

Nice attempt at a rant. But Ford is not stupid.

I can say whatever I want about them. You thought I didn't know about the different standards of emissions and etc...? Yeah, I'm well aware of it. It might be an issue, but Ford should work around it to put some of their cars in the states. Most of Fords cars are in Europe, and most people find that stupid, because Ford is an American company, not European. At least bring over the Ford Focus RS? I think their a lot of people in the states that would want one. You can support them all you want, but like many people, I think its pretty retarded to not have all of your cars sold in the country that the company was made in.
Most of Ford's cars are in Europe?
The European Ford lineup is completely different from the US lineup. They are basically their own operation, and I don't see any reason why we are entitled to have any cars that Ford makes, "just because they're an American company"I only mentioned emissions and everything else, cause I figured that someone who would know better would, well.... know better.
I dont think the Mondeo, Focus, and Ranger are better than the Mustang, F-series, Edge, SHO, & FusionDifferent stuff for different markets. Otherwise there would be no Acura, Infiniti, or Lexus.
Of course I'm aggravated about it. The more competition the better. I'm not trying to make excuses for Ford, it's just the way things are.
Might be an issue? I guess both Mitsubishi and Subaru didn't even try to bring over the Evo/WRX for an entire decade to milk the US because they thought those things might be an issue.

We're already seeing that with the Fiesta, the Focus, and the Transit Connect.
When the Fusion is ready to be replaced, it'll be based on the Mondeo with some Americanization for things like safety standards.
The Escape is rumored to be replaced by the Kuga and there's talk of bringing the S-Max over as well to compete with the Odyssey and the Sienna.
Ford is doing it the right way. It just takes some time.
