Well then there is the turbo cheating. The best way to avoid that non-sense is comparing 5-60mph, from idle.

Then, learn that a Z06 does it in 3.6s while that big fat Datsun does it in 3.9s.

'Enough said.

That's nice. If you think the sole measure of performance is in a straight-line, then more power to you.

Never mind the 918, right?

Never mind the P1, right?

Never mind the Veyron, right?

Never mind the R8 V10 Plus, right?

Never mind the 991 911 Turbo, right?

Shall I go on?

ETA: I prefer RWD, but I'm not dumb enough to say what...well...Saintor said.

Certainly. Did I say VW/Audi? And you forgot some. As for the P1 as well as 918, you have to thank more electrical immediacy than AWD.

It's true. You actually do lack the ability to admit your mistakes.

You actually do lack the skill to support your position in a convincing manner. You are just making noise, like the other kids.

Although, he makes a valid argument about "turbo cheating".

One of the most over-hyped gimmick in which people literally WASTE their money.

Yeah if I was racing a 650HP Fiesta, I'd want it. Or in a location with winters and many hills. There are many locations on this planet that have both many hills and winters. Sometimes both at the same time!

But for most applications, it is just a dead weight.

Cops don't order their Charger with AWD. They know that it is just what it is, a waste of money and a dead weight. You're right, they order Ford Explorer Interceptors which come with, you guessed it, AWD. No cops around here drive Chargers. All Explorer or AWD Taurus.

Except a few luxo-barges, M-cars don't have AWD. ...except for the X5M and X6M right? How about the M550d? Next gen M5 is going to be AWD. Most AMG models are AWD only.

Mustangs, Camaros, 805HP Challenger and Corvette don't have it. So? Neither does the Accord or Civic. What's your point?

Even the world's utter sedan, the cost no object Mercedes S600 Maybach doesn't have it. If there was a company that would believe that AWD increases a car's safety for literally peanuts (3K$), that would be Mercedes, mmmm? AWD does not increase a car's safety, this is where you're going all kiddywampus on us. Also the S63 and S550 both come with AWD.

Start thinking with your brain, not with your girlie emotions.

I forgot to mention the various AWD Porsche models, including the 918.

There's also the P1 that is AWD.

Tesla Model S P85+ has an AWD option.

The GT-R is AWD.

Some people like AWD from both a performance and safety standpoint. It certainly changes the dynamics of the vehicle. I don't happen to want one specifically, but I can see its advantages for certain types of driving. In short, your universal dismissal of AWD as an enhancement to all vehicles in all situations is nonsense. Not that you'll admit that you overreached and were wrong to do so. In all the years of watching you post on two boards, I've never seen you admit an error; I don't suppose you'll surprise me now.
I fully support all your arguments...but the P1 is actually RWD...

Yep. And the reason why 918 is always faster around the tracks than P1 is actually 918 is AWD.

Depends on the track. But either way, AWD is by no meals "dead weight" lol. There's a distinct reason for having it.

Really!? Every comparison review I see, 918 was slightly faster at different tracks.

I love the rainy days in LA... because that means I can take my wife's Avant up to ACH canyon run at night. AWD works like magic for the right situations

I've driven the new Accord (doesnt do it for me after owning 2 acuras, but does get you from point A to B)...and drove the tlx for a week as a loaner car...Tlx initial experience wasnt all that great compared to the tl shawd. Felt like I was in a Buick, Just didnt feel like a 40,000$ car, but dont get me wrong...driving dynamic its a beast! You could always get another tl (pre certified base model) with roughly 30,000 miles for 23k.
