<---- now thinking about swapping the head rests from my AT style to the 6MT style.

As for the "wrinkly leather": all I can say is "No butt prints thus far!"

Does the leather look perforated to anyone? I own a six-speed Accord and the leather is perforated and looks much different than that. The rest of the interior, however, contains the six-speed shifter and coupe steering wheel.

Prior to deciding on the 07 AV6 EX-L 5AT that I purchased, I test drove an 06 AV6 EX-L 6MT model and the only trim difference that I recall was the carbon fiber trim (versus the aluminum). I do not recall the seats having perforated leather and there is no mention of said seats in Honda's trim specifications.

Again, the wrinkly leather is found on most newer luxury cars without perforated leather (not to say anything about the quality of the leather on the Accord). For example:

^^ A 550i, in case you couldn't tell

Personally, I think it looks way better than flat (non-perforated) leather found on older cars... Gives it a more plush look/feel

Also leather that has some pleats in it looks far better than leather drawn tight

After being in other people's cars a few times this past winter and summer, I found I much prefer the comfort, breatheability, and feel of cloth in those extreme temps. I'm kinda leaning towards a cloth interior from now on. It was so much nicer to sit on something and lean against something that wasn't way too hot or way too cold when you got in. No more freezing seats, sweaty backs, sticky legs, or hot leather. I think the luxurious, clean look and upscale perception of leather is great, but for practical reasons, I really do think cloth is a becoming a better choice for me. It just sucks that you need to order higher trim levels that include leather seats if you want some of the other goodies, and that some car companies still believe in making cloth seats with really ugly designs, like in the 80's and 90's. And a lot of the cloth feels really cheap and doesn't appear to be very durable. What's this thread about again?

Like Terry said, the 6MT HAS perforated leather. Mine is an 06. This is what it looks like after a year of use. Clearly it's perforated, and clearly there are no butt-prints in it. It's Honda's way of pushing you to not get the pussy transmission.

The reason you are not seeing the perforated leather could either be because of the angle the photo is at, or because you are looking at the interior of a 6 speed sedan, not coupe (although the steering wheel shows otherwise). For 2006, they started offering the sedan in a 6 speed, but it lacked the standard 6 speed upgrades, such as larger front brakes, better (and perforated) seats, perforated steering wheel, etc.

The leather in all 6 speed Accord coupes is perforated and has the aforementioned wrinkles. I think the CL is one of the few cars that comes with almost no wrinkles in the leather.

That being said, if you are looking for a car with high end leather, some kind of e-shift (smg, paddles, whatever), and a slew of other top end features, the Accord is not your car. The Accord is meant to be a car which offers value for the money you paid for it. I got my Accord 6MT for $17k with only 27k on the clock. While I wish the leather was a bit better quality and that the car had fewer rattles, I can't complain.

The galleries almost always show the automatic interior. My pictures clearly prove that the 6spd coupe leather is perforated.

The ONLY reasons why justifying spending extra on a TL is because it has sportshift and it doesn't have wrinkled leather? Price in consideration or not, crossing a car off your list JUST because it doesn't have sportshift and non-wrinkly leather, and HIDs (somewhat reasonable, I guess) is just plain ridiculous. C'mon, of all things... SPORTSHIFT???

What you really forgot to mention is the larger 3.2L V6 with more power, interior materials, etc.

I wouldn't purchase a 2nd gen. MR2 without a T-Top.... because they're available with one. But you are being WAY too picky. What else are you going to say, that the Accord doesn't come in the same shade of white that the TL does? I think UNCType-S is actually this person: https://acurazine.com/forums/ramblings-12/what-spoiled-brat-368633/

Well the US Accords don't come with a sportshift, but the Euro/JDM Accord (TSX) does.
The Altima has a CVT. No gears to shift through, so no paddles. It does have some kinda "+ and -" on the 'sport shifter' but since it's not a traditional 4-5-or6 speed tranny, not sure it makes any sense to have it.

Also, IMO...if you want to shift get a car with 3 pedals. Want auto...pop it in D and roll. Sport-shift, paddles, whatever, they're nothing but a placebo...it's an automatic. Period.

even if you didn't drive manual it's still pointless. It won't hold a gear like you want it, etc.

....and even then, the extra 14hp/22lb-ft is negated somewhat by the additional 188lbs.

No question: the TL is clearly a step up from the AV6. But, after having driven the 3G TL and now owning an 07 AV6 EX-L IMHO, I do not find the TL to be $6,000 better than the "equivalent" AV6.

Sidenote: My wife was disappointed that I opted for the AV6 over the TL but, has really grown to love the Accord. Coupled with the current price of gas, it has become her driving preference over our 05 Murano.
