June 2001 Road and Track talks about RSX TypeS!

Looks pretty nifty. Should kick the Celica's ass. Has an 8k redline, CVT (continuous variable valve timing), only comes in manual tranny, and I forget what else it says (left the magazine upstairs).

Check your mail if you subscibe, because June 2001 Road and Track and Car and Driver both came today. Both have a TON of intersting articles it looks like (for once).

edit- oh yeah, available mid-July for around $24-25k.

Yeah they get a frickin' subwoofer.

Then again, they have to put up with the relatively UGLY exterior so I guess it's balanced out.

At least the RSX exterior has some style, compare to the BLAND CL

I dunno, my Aegean blue with the spoiler gets lots of looks of approval. Maybe when I do the suspension and get some new wheels and tires it'll be a REAL headturner though.

Maybe it's just coincidence that all the pics of the RSX have been bad angles or something because it's quite ugly, IMHO.

I read the review in Car and Driver...

Do you guys think that Acura would/could sell the spare tire sub for our car also?

I need a sub and I still don't know what to do.

I would love to hear it!

Doesn't CVT stand for Continuous Variable Transmission ? and if so, doesn't that contradict having a manual tranny?

I know it'll have i-vtec , but i thought the CVT was a) an auto/stepless clutch concept and b) only avail on the Honda EX as of now?

Maybe I got confused, but I swear it said "i-vtec" and "CVT (continuous variable valve timing)" in either R&T or C&D's little blurb on it.

I thought CVT meant continuously variable transmission too.

CVT most definitely means Continously Variable Transmission -- it's called "Multitronic" by Audi, and CVT by Honda. Audi claims that it will perform identically (in terms of time (0/60 and 1/4)) w/ a pro at the helm of a manual Audi -- it's debuting in the 2002 Audi A4 3.0 --

i-VTEC is the terminology for the valve-timing -- CVT would contradict this it seems.

Sounds like someone is jealous just cause the little sibling is getting some of the same equipment as the big brother.
