JDM Engines

Hey all. I just installed a JDM B18C-5 in my 91 Int. Is there truth to the myth that you must replace a JDM engine after 40K? I just don't want to think that I wasted my money on this engine.

the price of used cars in Japan is less expensive because of market factors such as having to register new vehicles for 3 years and used vehicles every 2 years. These legislations artificially deflate the price of the used car market. the Japanese highways and transportation laws prevent vehicles from receiving the same type of abuse as in other countries. For example, the maximum speed limit in Japan is 80 km/h where other countries have maximum speed limits of 125 km/h. You therefore, get a well- maintained engine in great condition.

If it were my car I would only put expensive Japanese parts ie: Mugen, Toda, Spoon, Tein, etc... Might as well, you spent all that money on a nice engine

But hey... if you only plan on putting bolt ons, theres not much difference performance/function wise...

jhpusa.com<---- its a great site for honda/acura performance enthusiasts, im pretty sure they have tons of stuff for the DA Integra/Type R B18C5 that you can't find for your Acura here on this site.

Well 40,000 miles is a lot of miles on any engine if it is modded to an inch of it's life and driven hard. Just something to think about.

Hey I never claimed to be an expert or anything. I don't understand why I'm being flamed for asking a question that I didn't know the answer to. to you

Question

On the other hand, my grandfather made me an offer I probably won't refuse. He's thinking of importing one of the Acura Integras that he saw on the Mugen Japan site. He said something about 2005 Type R?? Ring any bells? I know that the RSX is just an ongoing shell of the Integra.
