I've made my decision.....Its a good one!!!

I'm keeping the Cobra. I've been talking to Speed Inc. ....and so far, we are talking a 2.93 (maybe a 2.76) upper pulley....a Predator tune...and a Magnaflow high flow cat x-pipe for around $1250-1350. The guy said after he tunes it, I should be at 505hp to the wheels. Then I'll do some Nitto drag radials...then bring on the new Z-06!!!!

The intake and catback usually puts the Cobra at around 385-405hp to the wheels!

Check out ChicagoSVT.com. Speed Inc has a forum on there and often has deals on parts and installs. They have a great deal going right now on FRPP gears and install for cheap.

Also, might want to look into long tubes and an off road x-pipe. If you have a Predator tune, you can tune it to not throw an emissions code. The Illinois Air team only plugs your car into an OBDII scanner on OBDII cars. If you don't throw a code, you are clear.

I wanna talk to the guy (John) that actually does the tuning. I may do the Mid pipe within the next week or two.

Another shop in the Chicagoland area is SuttonHP. Try www.suttonhp.com . Talk to Doug over there. He is really knowledgable, they have a really great tuner in house, and it's a Ford dealership.

The Stang weighs a LOT more, and doens't have the suspension the Z06 does. Z06 will have a better hole shot. Not like your going to drive around with slicks on all the time... you have to make up for it somehow.

Z06 3130 pounds
Cobra 3665 pounds

...

Cobra = $33.5K
Z06 = $80K

I'd like to do the Kenne Bell...but I'm gonna do this stuff first! If I did the headers, off road x pipe, my cat back, a tune and pulleys....and ported my blower...I should be at 575 hp. But the Headers are $900 alone + install....and the portered blower is $500 + labor and install + the fuel system upgrades...I'll be spending like $4K!!!! I'll be happy with around 500 hp for like $1500.

Only if you’re stupid and impatient.
Plenty are selling for under 70K.

There will always be a faster car out there, if you would get a C6, someone else will have a Z06. If you get a Z06 there will be a Lingenfelter somewhere on the road. Your vert Cobra is sweet and with the mods you are doing, you will have one of the quickest and nicest "no lien, paid for" cars on the road. Then, if you still want HP get a Garrett GT42 or big turbo setup.

I like the FR500's. I was looking at the deep dish chrome FR500 clones. They will definetly look nice on your car.

Your car lowered yet? Mustangs come with a 4X4 ride height. I am doing Eibach/Tokico D-Spec, sways, control arms, etc. over the winter to my 05. I like the Anthracite ones, but I think Chrome would look awesome on my black car.

Before I bought my TL, i was so close to get an 04 Cobra. Since I already had a mustang, getting another mustang did not seem practical. Sometimes I wish i had a Cobra, you can make those things monsters!
