IPL Infiniti G Coupe
Hey guys. Just wondering what you think of the new Infiniti IPL G coupe? I like the rims and body kit and everything, but only 18 more horsepower? Seems pointless to me. If your gonna go compare it to AMG, sounds like a joke to me...

There's a thread about this in automotive news. I think it's the blogosphere turning this into an AMG, M, V competitor. It's more like m-sport, s-line, etc. https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...153971&page=71

I like the idea behind it to make the G-line seem more like a performance car than before, but it needs a lot more effort.
Lexus didn't just throw wheels & a bodykit on the IS when they introduced the F-Line, they completely took the car to a new level. I think the G37 has that potential.

Yes, the S line is Audi, M line is BMW, F line is Lexus, and now IPL is Infiniti. I like the idea that Infiniti is doing but they are going to have to do a lot better on the future models for this line then just a 18hp difference between the regular and performance models. I think Infiniti will do this but its going to take time since they are just in the early/initial stages of this new performance line.
While I like the name IPL, I tend to be OCD on some things. Just to keep consistency with the competition, I would have liked to seen Infiniti use a 1 letter abbreviation like the rest for differentiating their performance line. Ince I is in Infiniti all ready, the P line might have been a good choice, having P stand for performance. But you can't have anything in life so I guess the IPL abbreviation will have to do.
Just my two cents!

It's better looking than the newly refreshed coupe with the kit. It's not worth the price increase for just minor under the hood increases. The prior model was much better looking. I think this generation looks too feminine.

Lexus has never had a performance package other than the F-Line. It was originally intended to include the IS, GS, & one other car into it.
