Infiniti Owners, I Need Suggestions.......

For a forum. I have a 2000 I30 and it seems like the I30 section on maxima.org really has no following, probably since this car wasn't very much an enthusiast car (my friend calls my car the 'menopause-mobile', but he has an undesirable [to me at least] late 80s Mustang so I just brush off what he says). I really just want help finding some little bits(mostly where I can get a rear spoiler, or at least a quality replica), or just some answers to questions I may have. I have no intention of leaving Acurazine after the help I had with my CL, the amusement of some posts, and the fact I plan to return to Acura cars after college . I've looked, as I said, at maxima.org () and I'm debating whether to bother joining infinitiforum.net or nicoclub.com. Any help?

Personally, I'd leave it stock.

Well, all I'm really trying to add are factory accessories. I really want the spoiler mostly since I think the rear looks pretty boring without it. Then just the OEM mudguards (since I don't have them and my dad says leaving the rear wheelwell exposed caused some slight rust), rubber floormats (OEM ones can be had for about $50) and maybe HIDs, but I'm in absolutely no rush for those. Wheels I'll leave stock since the current ride is good, and I don't need anything flashy since I'm commuting to college next year. All that is done so far is aftermarket radio (for nav and iPod) with a line driver, and Python remote start is going in soon.

Hmmmmmm, didn't think so many people would be saying to keep the car as-is. Guess this really isnt a car that should have any mods on it

"Oh stewardess, I speak jive."

I traded in a 2004 Infiniti I35 about 2 months ago to get my TL. I have a tad bit of experience with these cars. Drove about 130K miles in 4 years.

Solid car, comfortable, reliable, but boring as hell. I would leave it stock. No point turning it into something it is not.

The one big issue I had with it was it started to really drink oil, but you have a 3.0 V6 which did not have the same issues as the VQ35. Other than that you may have to replace the exhaust. They seem to rust off at the flange pretty easy.

I also got some help from www.infinitihelp.com. You can download the entire service manual there. That's what I did.

For parts I used http://www.nissanpartsdirect.com/oempartscat.html. Best prices I could find ever with shipping.

By the way, I have a set of I35 wheels for sale if you are interested.

Thanks! The thing is I'm not really turning it into something it isn't, I just like usually prefer the look of the car with the spoiler as opposed to it without it. Just realized that I never really clarified what I want for the car: the stock spoiler, probably stock all weather mats, stock mudguards (I have some rust on the front part of the rear wheelwell probably from not having the guards there in the first place), and maybe HIDs, but that last one is in no way any priority. I think only the 3.5 had the oil problems, so I'm hoping my 3.0 will hold up well, especially since it only has 24k on the odo at the moment. Just curious, how much would you even be asking for the wheels? Feel free to PM me if any problems would arise from posting a price outside the BM.

The only issue I have with the stock spoiler is that they cost a lot to have them painted and installed. And on an older car you always have the concern about the color matching as a result of paint fade.

All weather mats are good to have.

As for HIDs, I'm not sure if the I30 has the same head lights as the I35. If they do then the stock ones are pretty good.

I would save the cash for down the road when you need to do something.
