$1500?!! that's pretty damn insulting.
you're doing the right thing by selling it yourself. clean it up real good, advertise, and you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it.
just out of curiosity how much are you going to ask for it?

I'd say 4k is 2/3 of the min trade in value and that's fine as long as you take 2/3 of your asking price, 14,520. See how insulted they are.
Here is the KBB trade in
value using 10023 as the zip:
Excellent $7,325
Good $6,625
Fair $5,435

this is about the worst part of the new car buying experience. for me, before i go into dealing, i will never tell them i want to trade in my car. i will ask them the trade in later on or go to carmax.

Wholesale value for the car in IMMACULATE condition is only a little over $5,000. You seem like a real professional photographer from the look of that photo
but it doesn't look so immaculate to me.
e30cabrio, dealers do NOT use KBB as a guide, the numbers are pretty inflated. In my opinion, to get a very close wholesale number using KBB is by rating the car in "fair" condition, in which you got $5,435. Galves (what most dealers in the area use) shows $5,200, close enough.
Aside from that, the price they offered you for the FX is WAY below invoice price. It could be that they lowballed your trade to make up for the "STEAL" of a deal they gave you on the FX. Lastly, I can almost guarantee you that the $22k price is based on the requirement that you MUST finance the car from them, in which this is their opportunity to bang you out on the finance rate, which is how they would ultimately be making their money on you. As a matter of fact, I just noticed it on their website, looks professionally written, too... "This vehicle is being offered for sale based on $2,995.00 down payment, whereas the remaining balance must be financed through dealer by means of reatail installement contract. All applicable local and state taxes plus deallr fees may apply. " It also shows in the specs of a car i'm looking at right now, "Additional Features***MUST BE FINANCED*** LN58**180"
Sooooo...Good luck!

My coworker and I were just talking about our car buying experiences this afternoon. I was trying to trade in my 1995 Nissan 240SX for a 2004 Civic Si (in 2004). The dealership offered me $1000 for my 240SX. The car was in awesome condition with a few mods on it. I told them that was a terrible offer. They asked me how much I think I could get for it and I told them $4000. They laughed in my face and said have a good day. I parked the 240 on a busy street near my place and a week later I sold it for $4000. Needless to say I didn't go back to that dealership to buy my Civic.
Was that Flemish?
And since when is this section for ranting?
So you got lowballed. Welcome to the world. Happens all the time. Man up.
And the $9k Craigslist offer ... Good god I don't know where to start with that one.

A piss poor economy?
A Flooded used car market?
Good luck with trying to sell it. I don't think you'll get $9K.

No chance you will get $9K. If you do, then you are "da man."
I think the price for the FX is very fair. That could be why the trade in is so low. Try to sell it privately for about $5K. Also, try taking it to a different Infiniti dealership and see if they have a similar FX.

it looks like mine! Keep your TL, and enjoy it, is my best advise. That's what I'm doing. I've been to infiniti dealerships in downtown chicago, and they were real D**ks! Someone should let those fools know, that they are selling nissan's! Speaking of nissan, why don't you buy a nissan morano?
yeaa bro thanx alot ....thanx guys again yea i would keep it but i need the extra space... morano i dont like iam an dmv inspection inspector so i get drive all kind of cars dunt like the morano becuse it is bassed of front wheel and it doesnt look too good like the fx35

acura tl 06, just curious... the one you were lookin' at, does it have 18" or 20" wheels? Try gettin' 20s if you can... they look soooooo much better, unless you plan on gettin' aftermarket wheels right away, then it doesn't really matter...
