Import Alliance Summer July 29-29. Zmax dragway. Charlotte, North Carolina.
ok.
Here's the deal. Charlotte is about to be put on the map.
All the ingredients for one of the largest import car meets on this side of the country is in the pot. It's cooking. I've heard from lots of people that didn't make the spring meet will be showing up to the summer meet. So if all the people that went to the spring meet show up to the summer meet, well... it will be the perfect storm. I've been having trouble sleeping about it the past couple nights.
What i'm going to do is show you the facility where it will be held. These pics here were taken in July of 2011 at an ISO event. Out of all the outdoor venues that i've been to in the past 8 years, this one is my favorite. It will be worth the drive for anyone out of the area, from south Florida to Ontario, you will not be dissapoint.
Here is a shot of the tarmac. It's a huge flat section of nice pavement. The dragway is to the right.
This picture will be full of cars in 3 months.
The prime hardparkin spot is under the bleachers.
Another shot of the tarmac.
The neatest thing IMO about this venue is the way it's built. The grandstand is to the right. To the left along the fence, it drops down to the tarmac which is about 15 below. When you're standing there looking out the sight will be epic in July.
It's a beautiful new facility. 4 lanes for racing. There is a pedestrian tunnel that goes under the track connecting grandstands. It's sick.
And here is a shot of the local squad cars.
Here is my jedi brother whom was at the spring meet in spirit, and will be at the summer meet in person.
My assumption is that they will be opening the lanes for racing, which could be why the entrance fee is going to be $20 as opposed to the $10 in previous years.

My buddy with the black NSX is saying he will be at the summer meet. His exhaust is so loud.
