I'm torn between these cars.. HELP!!

ALright.. I'm looking to buy a new/used car. My price range is around $27,000 or below.

My choices..

Acura TSX, 6 speed manual, nav.
Acura TL, 6 speed manual, nav
Nissan 350Z, 6 speed, nav
Infiniti G35, 6 speed, nav

Ahh.. i cant pick. I'm going to the Acura dealership tomorrow to test drive the tSX and TL...

Alright help me out here.. give me your opinions on each car.....pros, cons..
I'm 22 yrs old... Looking for a nice luxury sport type car...

I don't think any of those new, except maybe the TSX is $27K OTD.

Besides the 350z which really does not go with the others I would get the G (assuming you can find a 6 speed used) or if you are in the snow belt go with the TL.

Just to let you know, the TSX is the only car that when new is less than 27K, and i think it just barely fits your pricing. I could be wrong. But with navigation its def more than 27K

If you MUST have navi, then go with a new TSX. If you can live without it, go with the TL w/o navi.

I'd either go with a TSX or wait for the new G to come out. To me the TL is not worth the premium over the TSX, a FWD car with over 220hp just isn't that much fun. The 350 means your stuck dealing with Nissan dealers and a car that is known to have a few problems, which is a bad combo. Be warned the TSX is by no means a fast car, I own one with a few basic mods and its a fun car to drive but not close to the quickest thing going. The TSX also has great resale value and is over all a cheap car to drive, as a younger person that may also be a benefit with rising fuel costs.

Whatever you do get, just don't forget about all the other things you're going to have to pay for with the car:

-Insurance
-Gas
-Tires
-Maintenance
-Service
-Mods

Of those cars, the insurance and gas will probably be cheapest on the TSX. So if $27k OTD is the max you can spend because your income is a tad tight, then make sure you don't forget to factor in the costs of all the other things you have to pay for once you actually get the car.

Thanks for the great replies everyone...

As for mods.. I dont think I will be doing any. I just want the luxury sport type car. If i get the TSX(new or used) I am looking for 6 speed, nav, oem kit... and thats it.. dont want to mess around with to much... Same with the TL, as for the G35.. man its a nice car.. USED i can get one around 27-28K... But i bet insurance will be higher on that thing than the TSX and TL...

So I guess i cancelled out the 350 Z....

just down to a new/used TSX... Used TL.. or Used G35

On a reliability stand point.. how are the G35's?? I know TSX and TL's are good ... (honda cars)

Reliability is a wash between them. All very good.

TL or G is a great choice. Either one is a hot car. I just couldn't get by the lack of power in the TSX (sorry tsx fans)

I am a TSX fan and completely agree with you - if speed is important to you, look else where.

G35 hands down. It's the best car out of your line up.

Depends on what you want..

If you want a FWD car w/ luxury and gets excellent gas mileage (4 banger)... TSX

If you want a FWD car w/ luxury and has more power then the TSX... TL

If you're looking for RWD and can handle a 2 seater, then it's a no brainer... 350Z

If you're looking for a RWD, but need a back seat... G35C

Here's an idea... Drive all 4, and buy the one you like best

I've got my next car list narrowed down to a coupe or sedan with RWD or AWD, 6MT, an a 6 or 8 cly. engine

I bought my CLS 6spd 'cause it's sporty enough, luxurious enough, and gosh darn it, I really like it

Great overall compromise between a commuter car and a true sports car... It's not either of those, but somewhere in between...

I was wondering if anyone was going to ding my on that I just figured at age 22 he woulkd want to go with a 6 speed rear wheel drive car. They are more fun to drive than a front wheel drive car.

Plus they make more mods for the G35. So now matter what we do to our TL we will never be able to beat a G35.

OK, well nissans are less reliable. And there is no car company that makes a better navi. system then Acura. the tl and the tsx have WAY more features for WAY less. so id say get the TL.

Thanks for all the input..

I test drove the TSX and TL..

I'm going for the TL... EXCELLENT car.. I love it.. Nice and Lux.

Time to get a good deal and hunt down a White TL, 6speed, nav, black interior.

I probably see 12 G35's for every TSX I see, probably 8 TL's for every TSX I see - not that its an exclusive car, but its less common to see here. I think the resale value reflects its limited availabilty on the used market.

It's in the first sentence of his OP.

He might have a hard time finding a used 3G TL for 27k though, especially if that's including tax. The combo he's looking for from what I have heard on AZ is difficult to find even new, so again, he might run into trouble finding one used too.

These are < $26k near me: LINK

Then again, the market (not to mention the roads) is flooded with 3G TLs near me.
