I stopped by the Ford dealer yesterday and look at the new F-150s. They had a dark grey extended cab short bed 4x4, and I can honestly say that I really like it. I hate my beater car and the Cobra only comes out when its nice out.
This brings me back to my CL...I liked having one car and being done with it. Now I've got the Cobra....which I love, but From November until late March early April...it sits. Then I have to drive the beater!!! I can get a loaded F-150 probably for my Cobra and nothing out of pocket. Then sell the beater and put the 2-3gs in the bank. Who knows?

What is your beater? Have you driven a big truck for an extended period of time? You might get tired of driving that around everyday since you've been driving a CL/cobra. Also consider gas prices for dirving a big truck around everyday.

man keep the cobra. In fact if I had a cobra it would sit until it was a perfect day. Just go out get somthing half way decent for 2nd vehicle. Check autotrader and I bet you can find something close to the same truck for about 5k less.

suv's and trucks suck, why would any car enthusiast drive a truck if you didn't have to for work or family??!??
i wouldn't sacrifice the handling, responsiveness, power, or gas mileage

Will you use the truck? I mean really use it? What's the pont if your never going to use the bed or 4x4. And trust me, going from a fast car to a truck is a big change. You tend to try to drive it as you would in the car, only to relize it's so slow, then you waste a ton of gas & relize it's expensive, then you relize how hard the ride is & what a pain it is to park. You begin to say what the hell did I do I hate this thing.
Unless your going to use it I'd say keep the Cobra.

Grab your pussy and just drive your cobra daily. Im sure rain wont hurt it.
In winter.. try snow tires.. not sure if you have traction control though. Try it out and if its annoying then get another car. I just think this is your excuse to get another car.

My dad's friends dealer has a 99 Cougar that I can get for a good price...but he's gonna check it out. I think that I just hate driving the beater. The Cobra gets horrible gas milage, so I don't really want to drive it every day. It gets like 120 mile to the tank.... Maybe next year I can get a truck and keep the Cobra.

And no bitching about RWD being a pain in the winter... I drove 65 each way to work with my 94 Tbird with all season tires for 2 years. It was fun

I thought about getting a big lfted truck for my next ride, but I'll always have to have something sporty. I couldn't make that trade off.
And seriously, stop being a puss and babying your cobra, it's not like it's gonna make the value stop from depreciating.

120 to a tank? Thats like 10mpg and you dont have any pull/chip mod either. I thought those cars get 15/23 or something like that
I want a cobra so bad I just cant afford 2 cars and a house right now. I will try to pick one up in a few years

Another option is to get rid of the beater and buy a old beater truck... Should be able to get a decent 4x4 for about $7K, and if you get sick of the high fuel costs, you won't have to take a depreciation hit like you would on something new...

Put a shovel, bag of sand/rock salt/kitty litter, and a rolled up old carpet in the trunk if you're that scared of getting stuck... That's what my mom used to do
If you want to buy a truck, buy it, but don't use the RWD sucks in snow excuse...

Go ahead, sell the Cobra.
But don't get mad at yourself the minute you see another cobra crusing down the highway and you've only got your truck to roll in. Been there, done that, never going back to that.

Also not like you like in the boonies. Most of the roads around here are clear of snow within an hour or so. There might be maybe 10 days TOTAL where snow might be an issue on the roads.

I've been looking at some decent daily drivers on autotrader.com. I just hate driving the Cutlass soooooooooo much!!! I think If I had something that I wasn't ashamed to be seen in to drive along with the Cobra...I'd be fine!
