Angry IDIOTS don't know what a school zone means!

So I was driving to work this morning as I always do, and make a left turn right into a school zone with the lights flashing indicating that the speed limit is 25 MPH. As usual I adjust my speed to 25 MPH eventhough there was no cop or buses dropping kids off. But apparantly the dumb lady behind me in a white Accord doesn't like it so as I am leaving the school zone to get back up to my normal speed and to get in the turn lane to make another left turn. This dumb a$$ flies by me in the suicide lane nearly side swipping me.

At this point, I go from being calm to infuriated. She then stops in the turn lane to wait for the green arrow. As soon as she sees me turning too, she whips her car around to go through the green light. I then decide to go through the green light too to see what her problem was. Then she slams on her brakes trying to get me to hit her, but no luck. She just sits there for a few moments then she attempts to turn into the gas station, but she turns too wide and gets stuck. I pull up beside her attempting to let her know that she just sped through a school zone and to ask her what her problem was. She flips me a bird, then presses the accelerator like she wants to hit me..yeah right. I sit there to see if she's actually going to do it.

After she comes to her senses, she just beeps her horn and keeps it there until I finally drive off. I drive through the adjacent neighboorhood to get back on the main road and as I am making a right turn I see her again and I happen to turn right behind her. She tries to get me to hit her again by slamming on the brakes but still no luck. She makes a right turn and I make a right turn to get to work. She floors it again, and I just go my normal speed trying to forget about the situation. In fact she is going so fast thinking about me that later on down the road at the next intercection, she doesn't realize that the cars in front of her have slowed down so she has to slam on her brakes while I go right past her.

As I continue on the road going my normal speed she speeds past me again like she's really going to do something, then finally turns off. I continue to work. My blood is boiling at this point, so much so that after I get to my desk, I leave again planning to leave a nice little note for her saying that the next time she speeds past someone to makes sure she's not in a school zone. I go back to where she turned off at and sure enough I see her car. I drive off to write the note, but when I come back to put it on her windshield, she's gone.

I just wish the cop that usually patrols that area was still around to see her fly past me like a maniac in an active school zone. That would have really made my day and I would have turned around just so I could point and laugh at her.

I am STILL a little upset and wish she would have gotten pulled over before things esculated. Maybe tommorow she'll do it again and a cop would be waiting for her; I just hope I'm around to see it.

Regardless of how wrong it is to blow through a school zone, next time just let it go. Pointing it out to someone like that isn't going to change their behavior. I know, it seems obvious, not to speed through a school zone...you don't want to hit a kid (or have one get hit)...but some people don't get it or don't care. You can't change that, unfortunately, and dwelling on it or doing as you did only serves to get you riled up.

On a personal note, the other day (first day of school here), there was a cop sitting just around a curve in the road in the bus parking lot of a school I drove past. I chuckled thinking about how many tickets he would write that afternoon (it's a major road that everyone speeds on).

Report her ass to the police for reckless driving. They may keep an eye out for her.

On a somewhat related note... Schools zones here have no stopping on the street for the blocks around a school. This is for the safety of drivers and the students - it prevents kids running out between parked cars.

I REALLY hate it when parents ignore all of the signs and the traffic around them and stop to let their kids out. It is ignorant and certainly presents a bad example to their kids... Apparently the rules don't apply to them.

Aside from that, you can always call 911 when in situations like that. Take the license plate down and report it immediately. If it's after the fact, she could say that he did something to provoke her first, and it would be her word against his. By calling 911 right away, you're making it known right away. Problem is, getting through to 911 in most places is a hurdle in itself.

school zones in NJ and NYC, most have cameras.. speed all you want, and expect a ticket in the mail with a warning.

Road rage is getting out of hand lately.

Yeah, call up the police and have them put an officer hiding in the same spot where it happened

People need to stop being in such a hurry to get everywhere. I got honked at twice today on my way out to the doctor, and only because 1) I waited for a car to pass before I started to accelerate and merge into that lane and 2) because I waited a whole 0.5 seconds at a light.

you should have just let the cops handle it IMO. doing what you did is only going to cause more trouble.

I've never had the urge to follow a driver that's pissed me off. I just don't understand that. Get out of their way, and move on. The less interaction I have on the road with crazy people or unsafe drivers, the less chance I have of getting in an accident or becoming the victim of someone else's rage.

Unless they're doing something really dangerous or might be driving drunk (911), it's not my job to police everyone else on how to behave on the road, and it likely won't have any effect anyway.

I hear you on that. If some bad driver pisses me off it ruins my day or at least the next few hours.

I always figure that karma gets them. Look how many times you caught up to her even as she was speeding like a moron. Later on she'll realize she was acting like a total idiot. It's drivers like her wasting all that gas and rubber that no wonder auto maintenance is expensive.

What were you hoping to accomplish? -- She's already driven like an ass, you can't change that. How would letting her know about it change anything --- it's already done, and don't you think she's well aware of how she was driving? The only thing I can imagine a confrontation doing is escalating a situation. How is that beneficial to either of you?

In NYC they honk before the light turns green, everyone is expected to shoot out of the spot like they on the drag strip. lol

I had a woman go psycho like that on me once

I was on my way to work and wasnt paying attention to the lane I was in which turned into a left only at a light, we were both the first cars in line. Rather than sitting waiting for the entire line of traffic to not let me go I just gassed it a bit and pulled into the other lane when the light turned green. I was waiting on the light to get the jump and did, that way I wasnt cutting her off at all...she was barely moving when I was already in the lane pulling away.

This infuriated her and she pulls up on my ass and starts honking like a lunitic and then tries to pass me on a two lane road (no suicide lane) so I laugh and let her get up to about my door and then speed up matching her speed so shes now stuck in the other lane...then slowing down at the same rate ....there was no oncoming traffic or else I wouldnt have done this. I then sped up a bit and let her in behind me.

She immedietly proceded to try it AGAIN! So I did the same thing, praying that the cop that is always sitting running radar would be in the usual spot....but of course he wasnt. So I kept her out there for about 1/8 of a mile before just pulling away laughing to myself at her fury.

Best part was Im sure I ruined her day...while she made mine

I hate that. When you switch into a lane in front of somebody and they're not going into that spot anytime soon. But they get mad. They didn't have to tap their brakes, what's the big deal? Now if a guy is like 20 cars back and I see him coming up at like 70 and I'm doing 50, I won't switch. Even though he's far, he'll have to get on his brakes or I'll have to gun it and waste gas. He won't clip me, but it's still annoying. Some people have poor depth perception.

If you did this to me, I'd be pissed too. The right to do there would have been to suck it up and make the left turn. Sure it's an inconvenience but since you weren't paying attention, you should inconvenience yourself and not others.

It's like those assholes who despite the 50 million signs indicating the the far right lane on the highway is "EXIT ONLY" and they wait until the absolute last minute to try to merge into the lane that is not exiting. I don't let those people in and I sure as hell would have prevented you from cutting in as well.

You need to perfect the Mel Gibson - Lethal Weapon "I'm a fucking psycho" look. Then use it as you drag them from the car talking about how beating the fucking piss out of someone doesn't solve any problems but damn does it sure feel good.

if the traffic was moving then I would have sucked it up and turned, but I didnt inconvenience her in the least. The instant the light changed I was off, long before she reacted. I layed into the throttle and was far ahead and then let off.

I agree with you on the exit only lanes, if you speed up and slide into the spot in front of me then thats fine, but dont expect to push me out of the way to let you in.

Well, in this case, I actually was actually going to tell her that she was speeding through a school zone and nearly side swiped me flying by me; maybe she really didn't know...I dunno. But she wouldn't roll her window down. I just wanted her to know that she should not be speeding through a school zone which is why I tried to put the note on her windshield.

Oh well maybe the cop will get her next time and hopefully she doesn't hit anyone when everyone else on the road follows the rules.

I've noticed a lot of psycho 16 - 25 girls on the road lately.

I had someone get pisssed that I wasn't going fast enough (although I was already going 10 over), it was a known road with a ton of cops.. and with my record, I wasn't pushing it.. it was only one lane in each direction.. so this ass puts his high beams on.. that's fine.. I have tinted windows and his car was lowered.. so most his light never made it in.

Eventually up the road, he passes me... What he failed to realize was.. my HID's on low = brigher than his high beams..

I didn't put them on high (although, very tempted).. However, due to the fact his car was lowered.. I am sure my lights went straight into his mirrors. It was very funny to see him after about 60 seconds turn off into a turning lane.. wait for me to pass.. and then get back behind me and follow like a sane person...

25 is a bit fast for a school zone. It's 15 here. I have 3 of them on my way to work each morning.

Apparently I'm an idiot too. https://acurazine.com/forums/car-talk-5/got-ticket-florida-375934/

At least I wasn't raging...just wasn't paying attention.

You do realize other people can just flip that little tag at the bottom of their rearview mirror and that effect will go away?

My sister used to complain about cars headlights at night and how they would show in her rearview mirror. I showed her that "trick" and now she's fine.

^^Don't forget the side mirrors. Even with my tinted windows I still have to point the drivers side mirror down when people ride my ass.

One time I got rammed off the side of the road by an SUV, because during her pass, a truck came around the corner and she just pushed me into the grass. It was a double yellow line as well, at 60mph(55 mph zone).

I got back in control of the car and chased her up to 95mph into my town(30 mph zone), she passed a line of cars and went thru a red light to get away from me.

Long story short I immediately went to the state trooper barracks and the officer said "next time, call the police and chase her." He even went so far as to say if I saw her again to chase her. It ended up a week later the cop got her in the same place.

Scary how crazy people are, but it was neat having authoritie.

this is a very sticky situation. what if this bitch got out of her car when u told her she was speeding and kicked in your door? what are you going to do then? hit her and go to jail and get the car impounded.

Its one thing when it's a guy lol but when its a bitch EVERYONE will be against you. your gonna look like an ass if shit hits the cieling. Thats why its best to avoid any situation like this in general and even moreso if your a male and your dealing with a female.

I have a similar story...
I was driving on the 401 west [canadian highway] heading to Windsor [right across detroit]. On the way there... some asshat in an Audi high-beams me for a good 2 whole minutes---even though I was on the right [slower] lane. So I check the left lane, it's clear, and I merge into it. The Audi driver follows me and still has his highbeams on. I eventually pulled into the gravel to let him pass.
Moments later I caught up with him and was behind him on the right lane. After some time he taps his brakes repeatedly even though there were no cars infront of us. So annoyed, I pass him.... and again he continues to high-beam me. At this point I was irritated and pulled over again and gave him a taste of his own medicine. I flicked on my highbeams and kept behind him at various distances making sure that my highbeams had entered his car, his rearview and his side-mirrors. After 5 minutes of driving and highbeaming him back he was behind me for the rest of the ride on the 401.

You are not a cop. So don't play one, please. As good as your intentions may have been, if she hit someone because you decided to follow her, she could have (successfully or unsuccessfully) blamed it on you because you were "harassing" and following her.

From the look of it you seem to have rage issues yourself.

Agreed. Some people have no respect for the law and for other people. Hope that she never runs someone down because she is an inconsiderate bitch.
