I went and did it again...

So for those who followed my I need an SUV thread.... I decided against it because we just bought a new house.. well I couldn't pass this deal up.
I just went to look at them and decided to come home with one..

2015 Ford Explorer XLT. White platinum metallic
comfort package with leather
dual panel moonroof
remote start
voice activated everything
power lift gate
My sync
4.2 LCD screen

So far I've just ordered LEDS snd going to pull the trigger on some running boards soon... the system is pretty nice with its 9 speakers. I've owned the car for about 5 days and love it so far..

Here are some quick pics of it.

Awesome ride, nice choice. My buddy traded in his wife's Range Rover Sport for the explorer sport with the ecoboost v6 in it and his wife hasnt had a complaint yet. Man does that thing ride nice and it gets up and goes. You should really enjoy it.

You Flipster you, congrats!

Ford has really done a great job, especially with trucks and SUVs.

Congrats buddy!! My father just purchased a new Transit 250 Van with the 3.5L Twin Turbo. Good improvement over the Sprinter he had. Ford has been making big moves!

Ugh, you suck! Your going to make me slow down and merge into the right lane if I ever see you, haha.

But really, congrats on the new ride! I really do like this explorer besides the fact that all the cops around here drive in them.

^^ White ones? Not very stealth or maybe they are really trying to blend in with the general public

All the undercover Explorers around here are black on black or dark gray. The marked ones vary in appearance greatly from town to town.

All of the newer California Highway Patrol vehicles are Ford Explorers.

Thanks everyone. I am really enjoying the car. Back in the day before I started to drive I said I would never own a Ford. But Ford has come along way. I'm averaging about 19 MPG in the city right now.

Yes, CHP has pretty much switched over to Explorers... Bryan (CrazyasianTL) can fill you in on those as he has been shotgun in one. Local PD out here have Explorers and Tahoe's... Some are white, some are black and white and some are just black

Also, V6 290HP IIRC... This California weather, I had to get 4WD.
Honestly, they only had a couple on the lot, all XLT's all 4WD. 2 with the dual moonroof. I swung by there yesterday and 2 more appeared. Think they're making room for the 2016 which I do not like..

Update:

Installed LED's phone was dead so no pictures. That's pretty much it. Will get some running boards and probably put a Flip down TV or something in it for trips. I have the tablets that the kids can watch. With the tablets on Sprint and my phones on Verizon Sprints coverage sucks. When we drove down to San Diego it was hit and miss.

I will be putting some miles on it towards the end of the year and next year when we drive to Disneyland and San Diego..

Nice flip! I'm also a fan of the 2011-14 Edge Sport. Love how it looks.

1115 miles and still running smoothly..... Have been getting compliments on it. I'm like, I've done nothing to it....

The wife is actually loving it over the Accord, the rear has become very convenient with kids.

Does it have the 3rd row?

How many miles now, MPG?
Does it need premium?

3rd row yup, I've only had the 3rd row up once or twice when we had passengers back there.

I have a little over 4k

Took a trip to Monterey last week. Averaged 22 MPG. Around town I get about 16-17. No need for premium. I enjoy this thing more and more everyday. Especially with kids, it's convenient.

I was at Ford on Monday BS'n around talking with the salesbro who sold me my car. Looked at the 2016 closely and was like WTF... 2018, 2019 Ford should be bringing out a whole new Explorer with Sync 3, but I think it's going to depend. Sales are through the roof with the Explorer. My dealer can't keep them on the lot ever since 2014.

When I bought my 2015 June 4 they had 13 by July 4 they were left with 2. Just recently they received 16 and only have 3 left.

3rd row isn't too bad. IMO with the 3rd row up I still have more room then my sisters Pilot. Leg room especially. Ford knocked it out of the park with this one. When I was going back and forth on a SUV the Explorer hit every check box. Interior, Exterior looks, power, cargo room etc.

I will need to get rid of my wagon for a 3 row next year. All the ones I have looked at, after the 3rd row there is no space.

So where are we supposed to put luggage/stroller when third row is up?

The Infiniti version of the NIssan Patrol and the Land Cruiser both have this issue. I have a 21 cubic feet roof box for travel, but for quick weekend trips it doesn't make sense to put double stroller on roof box to a trip to the zoo etc.

What you need is a Hummer limo. Plenty of room in that sucker.
