I went with the HID's more for their function rather than the way they look. I also think it makes the front end look very modern, so it shouldn't look dated in a few years, kind of like the 2005-2009's do.

Didn't the GT500 or KR have HIDs before 2010?
And before I saw the pics of the Mustang with HIDs and halogens, I used to think that it didn't really belong on them. I'm still in the mindset that they're for higher-end cars only. They do look good, though.
FWIW I dont really like the look of the Mustang with the halogen headlamps. It makes the car look more like a base model.

I agree about the wheel gap completely. If it were a summer only car, I'd put on the Ford Racing springs. I think it's a 1.25" drop all the way around. Puts the front end of the car very close to the ground though, but apparently transforms the feel of the car.

Yeah, the car is better than the generation before it. Ford finally got the V6 done right. I wasn't really into Mustangs back then, but now since they improved the V6 and added the 5.0 V8 for the GT my opinion has changed. I like to believe Mustangs are a cheap V6. You can get one for under 30K OTD.

As far as last years V6, I would've never bought the V6 if it was still the 4.0L with 210hp. That motor did nothing right, except durability.

Agree with Dom, the Brembo package 19s look nice. Not sure how I feel about that spoiler.

I've been following this thread from the beginning but just read through it again. Congrats on the purchase! Any word on how much longer until it's ready? I bet the wait is killing you!

No worries guys...I've been thinking about it daily
I spoke to the sales manager last Friday, he says that 2 weeks before I ordered a couple guys came in and ordered a 5.0 each. They both just got their VIN's last week. That means in a couple weeks time I should get a VIN, that tells me the car is eaither built or about to go down the line. Delivery will be a couple weeks after that.
Terrible time to take delivery of a sporty car like this, but the employee pricing at the end of the summer was too good to pass up. Plus, the demand is huge at Ford right now for these, they can't keep up even running 3 shifts, 24 hours a day.
But, as a bonus I've arranged a Mustang assembly plant tour in Flat Rock, Michigan on Thursday

And don't think I've forgotten about my ride. I don't care if there's 3 feet of snow on the ground.
BTW - Those 2 GT's at the dealer in Bolton I mentioned earlier are still there. Shocked they can't sell the coupe. It perfectly equipped.

I know the reason they're not sold - the prices. I'm sure those two coupes are in the mid to high 40's. Not just anybody is willing to pay that for a Mustang that doesn't say Shelby on it...

No worries Dom, the ride will happen. I've got the winter tires and steelies waiting in my garage

I think its just a matter of the dealer's location.

With employee pricing the coupe was about 42-43 Out the door. You just hear about so many being ordered and hard to find. I figured someone from the GTA would have picked it up by now. About a month ago they were both advertised on the front page of the local paper as being available for far below employee Ford pricing. So I wouldn't be surprised if the coupe can be had for ~40.

WTF, no more Sterling Grey? I would have thought they'd replace it with another dark grey color. I think since the S197 first came out in 2005, they've had 3 or 4 different colors. Titanium, Mineral Grey...

So I take it you'll be driving the Mustang through winter?
Do you store the 5.0 and SHO or do they get steelies and winter tires as well?

The SHO has been tentatively sold, and I'm also looking to sell the 5.0, but if nobody wants to pay what I'm asking I'll just keep it. I'd love to have all three cars but at what point does it become too much, especially when we've already got 4 other cars at our house.
Basically, in order to give the new Mustang a garage spot, I've got to unload the other 2 cars. If I can find a storage spot for the 5.0, I'd just store it for the winter without a doubt.
