Trust me, I know exactly how good the nav is with Sync, but I just checked out the price and it doesn't look like nav is even available on the V6's.

I've absolutely driven the new 5.0. Couple weeks back I went to the Ford dealer and I pulled in with my 5.0, a salesman comes over and says "I know exactly what you're looking for, let me grab the key". Absolutely fantastic car but good luck pricing one out (in Canada at least) that's not 40k out the door...

Also, I love how some people suggest the 5.0 but fail to remember I'm 21. I'd love to see the dollar signs light up on my insurance agents eyes when I call in that quote...

the new 5.0 is a helluva car....really thinkin' about one....

But Ford did the right thing (finally) with the base and getting rid of the ancient 4 litre six...hell it only has 20 less HP than last year's GT, which was no slouch. Congrats OP!

That's fine and dandy, around here it's a much different story.

Plus, I think the 335's will be a maintenance nightmare in the long run....

...and I'd still be paying more for somebody else's car.

There's a dealer in Barrie owned by the Humberview group that has great prices on BMWs FYI. Fairview Acura in Kitchener has had descent prices on BMWs over the last little while as well (but not right now).

My dad would sell you his e39 M5 for under 30k. Would take some convincing to get him to give it up though. lol

I'd imagine the insurance would be insane for a 21 y/o in a 5.0. I think you're making a wise decision going with the V6. It's kind of like the Hyundai thing; because people were told for years and years they weren't good cars, it's hard for people to understand they are indeed good cars now. IMO it's the same thing with the V6 'Stang. If you asked me last year if I'd ever consider a V6 Mustang, without blinking I'd tell you hell no. Ask me this year and the answer would be completely opposite. For years though I was always under the impression the V6 'Stang wasn't a "real" Mustang, but Ford's changed my perspective with the new V6. I'm super impressed and have only read great reviews of the V6 version in the car mags. I do have to admit hearing a muscular sounding V6 exhaust note coming out of a 'Stang is a little odd, but so was a turbocharged 4 cylinder with advanced suspension bits and pieces in a Mustang in the SVO of the mid-80s. It's a great thing to see a little variation in the Mustang line up other than just the big V8 being the only competitor. It's very cool knowing the V6 can give most cars on the road today a run for their money.

Fantastic choice. Screw the Gen coupe and get the Sterling Grey with red leather if available on the V6. Saddle isn't bad either. The red isn't available on the GT up here, not sure about the V6.

The GT I've built on ford.ca comes out to $37,058 + HST (13%) $41,875 with employee pricing.

GT Performance Brake Package
3.73
HID's
Security Package

Good luck!

Haven't seen if you've thought about it -- but have you considered checking out pricing and warranty info if you purchased from the States? We were VERY close to purchasing through the US when the dollar was good earlier this money because it would've saved us ~$8,000 and warranty would've transferred as well. But call Ford Canada to inquire about US warranties in Canada because every company does it differently and some will not honour it here without a TON of hassle and payment up-front.

it's not worth it on this car, list prices between the countries are within about 2K. you'll lose on FX conversion right now (3.2% + Retail bank markup on the exchange). I bought my boat down there in may though and it was a heck of a deal (FX was like 1.2% but it helps that I got market rate not retail). If you have any questions on the import process I can answer them for ya.

As Dougler mentioned for the V6 the prices are very close between countries. The thought did cross my mind though.

I really like the grey/silver color with the polished wheels. Have you owned a black car with fresh paint before this? They look great, but it sucks finding new scratches and blemishes every time you wash the car. I'd save yourself yourself the frustration and go with the silver. Especially since it's a nice medium/dark silver. Would look killer with tinted windows.

I know, that's exactly what I'm worried about

Honestly I think black looks the best on this car, and I know they're the hardest to keep looking good, BUT when they are clean, they look great.

I owned a 1988 Mustang LX302 CID (yes, 5 liter but I refuse to use the term liter). I ordered that car and it took 13 weeks 3 days to get it. I was black with gray interior. Frankly, the black was the only color that looked good that year in my opinion. But colors and whether or not they look good are just that... opinions. A black Mustang still looks great, but fortunately Ford has seen fit to include a few other exterior colors in the mix that also look great. The light blue, however, doesn't look that good in my opinion. That is the color of the 2011 GT I pulled up next to eight days ago.

Well I drove a 6-speed today and couldn't be happier about how it felt. Smooth clutch, fantastic transmission, great ratios for accelerating and highway cruising...

The sales manager (the guy who I've been dealing with, and is a very cool guy) said that there's a truck arriving sometime next week that may have the exact car I'm looking for. Black, HID's, interior upgrade, 6-speed, all the good stuff. He advised me to hold off for the week on factory ordering one and wait to see if the car on the truck is the one I want. If it is, I drive it home that day, if it's not they'll have to place an order and it'll be 6-8 weeks.

I've got a big decision to make then. If the car on the truck isn't what I want, do I drive my SHO through this winter and order the car sometime in March of 2011 to have it in time for summer or do I order it now and say screw it, I'll take delivery just before winter.

The disadvantage of waiting is that I'll lose the employee pricing discount, and nobody is sure what kind of incentives they'll have in 2011....

How does he think that there is a car on that truck with the exact options you are looking for? He either knows or doesn't. Ask him to get more information on it

I think the current Mustang is sexy as hell and the performance is great too but its missing alot of the tech that Ford has to offer these days. (especially the new My Ford system from the new Edge)

Also no Telescoping steering column...

I think the car on the truck is the one he said, but the OP isn't sure that's the one he wants.

Get the silver. You get snow in Toronto, yes? How crappy do dark cars look after a snow? If it were down here I'd say get the Kona Blue. But silver, young padawan, is what you'll be happiest with after about three days.

Nice choice on the Mustang V6. 300 ponies isn't anything to sneeze at, V6 or not.

Don't get black as a daily driver.

And I wouldn't worry about incentives in 2011, the car isn't going to get more popular than it is right now. Chances are, inventory will be going up and you'll probably be able to find what you want on a lot next spring, or later this year. which means more room to negotiate.

Have you checked with a few dealerships? Or used the dealer inventory tool on Ford.ca?

BTW - Saw 2011 V6 with Pony package listed at 27K on autotrader. Black, 6 speed with 8K.

With the discounts I'm getting now, a brand new one would end up being cheaper than that used one. Remember there's HST on that 27k, that brings it up to 30.5k which is about 1k more than I'm getting a brand new one for

I think you guys may be right, black for a daily driver may be a pain in the ass.... I saw a kona blue one at the dealership yesterday and frankly I wasn't too impressed with the colour. I need to find one and see what a sterling gray looks like in person... That may be the better way to go...

... I still think black looks best though

According to their site, Dixie Ford has 2 Sterling Grey's in stock. 1 GT, 1 V6, but its an AT.

And what I great value the V6 is. I've been so busy looking at the GT's I failed to notice the V6 can be had for a hell of a deal.

I checked out Dixie yesterday just because I was in the area, all I could see was 1 black GT and 1 black convertible V6, also 6 speed. I was too focued on the black ones to even ask if they had gray ones

Get the colour you think it looks best in. Or,...if you like both the black and the gray, and are concerned about a black car showing dirt more etc, go with the gray.

Definitley looks best in Black IMO (I drive and past a black GT everyday at the local dealer) but its seriously a PITA unless you're dedicated to keeping it clean.

A little bit of extra effort goes a long way. Worth it IMO.

I don't put any effort into my DD black TSX anymore, and it still looks 10x better than the boring silver one across the street from my parents (when I visit). Someone at works drives a black Mustang. She doesn't do much to it to keep it clean, but it always looks good. Black FTW!!!!

I was waiting for a friend tonight and thought I'd drive past the Ford dealership in the area, saw a kona blue V6 and really am not impressed with it. I like blue cars (my other Mustang is blue) but it seems a little too dark. If it were a couple shades lighter like this:

I'd be all over the 2011 in that colour

Wait, I thought they have a crazy light blue color like that available on 'Stangs this year. Is it only the 5.0 or just the US?

This...
