Use Simple Green to break up the dust and grime, it works very well. Just make sure you use a cheap sponge or wash mit, it's going to get really dirty and you don't want to use that on your paint again.

I've never actually heard of that stuff, but just read up a bit on it, seems like it would work well on wheels. It's all natural and doesn't have any acidic ingredients, so it shouldn't harm the wheel finish.

I'd ask in the Wash and Wax forum just to be 100% sure.

Definitley those wheels. The Blue has the dark brown leather interior so guess they're not base versions. Have to make my way over there for a closer look at some point.

Nice job on the wheels. Talk about night and day.

I think I'll have to clay the brake dust off my wheels.

What kind of wax did you use? I heard Poorboy's Wheel Sealant is the best when it comes to repelling brake dust, and otherwise protecting your wheels. Available locally too:

You'll probably need pounds and pounds of claybar to clay the brake dust off of your wheels

I used the 2 stages of Klasse. It's worked well for me before, I'll see how it works on the polished wheels...

So far so good

Second gear was a bit notchy first thing in the morning, but nothing abnormal, even less so now that I swapped in the Redline MTL.

Apparently Chris Cuomo of ABC news will be doing an investigation and TV story on the whole situation after hundreds of other owners emailed the producers (similar to how they forced BMW to recall the cars for their faulty fuel pumps after running the story on TV)

It's a shitty situation, Ford definitely knows there's a problem and to be honest I'm not happy how they're handling the situation.

It's going to be fun watching from the sidelines, and I certainly hope Ford does the right thing for everyone having issues...

Glad to hear you're having good luck so far.
I've been lurking on some of the Mustang forums. It's sad that it will have to come to TV coverage about the trannys. If Ford would just back people up this wouldn't be an issue. Sorry for the hijack.

So I drove the GT Premium. Wow what a difference premium does with the interior. I guess i sat in the base model before and thats why i was so MEH about mustang.

Anyways, drove it. Fell in love.......

Anyone else think the shifter was a tad unnecessarily too short? It was like a super duper short shifter.

Wonder how much off sticker they selling the 2012 models...

Premium interior is worth every penny. I would not have bought this car if the base interior was the only option. I don't even consider myself a dash stroker; The base interior is just too plain.

Is the shifter too short? I don't think so one bit (shifters remain the same between V6's and GT's). Everybody whose felt my shifter () felt the same way, they all thought it was just right.

If you buy an automatic Mustang, you must get an aftermarket tune to firm up the shifts and bring the shift points more in line to those of a sports cars - not a Camry.

Are you seriously getting one? I'm sure you can work a very good deal on one.

btw - the 6AT is apparently bullet proof. You can also add 3.73 gears which apparently makes the car pull like a freight train.

How was the noise in the cabin? They pump sound into the cabin through a sound tube for fear that the GT would be too quiet.

Sorry for the S A CHO

wow dude.... I would be so jesalous. S2000, NSX, 335i(?), M3, and then now you're teasing us with the idea of getting a 5.0. Don't joke around man, I'm *this* close to officially hating you

I'd rock a Mazda 3 as a daily too. I even wanted a 1.8T A4 at one point as well... I just realized that you have very good taste

I dunno how the pre-2011s were but I remember sitting in a V6 Mustang, most likely with a base interior. Same deal as SACHO, I'm not a dash stroker but man that interior was befitting of the car's price.

Well when i switch cars its typically because im bored. Thats not the case this time. M3 is the perfect car for me. Payments were easy to deal with before but things have changed and now want to get into something cheaper.

I been driving so many cars in the past couple of weeks and I hate them all. I been spoiled by the M3 which has the perfect balance of performance and luxury.

G37 was a strong contender because of the lease rates and is a nice car but after driving it for a long time (25min test drive) i realized it was too civil for me. Did tickle my senses.

328i would be great but I been in the same interior since 2007.

Also been looking at the E46 M3 but not many clean ones out there.

Mustang I really enjoyed for the price of the car but of course its missing the snob appeal and luxury. Its so far on top of my list still because of the performance and i dont want to give up that V8 rumple sound. Kinda a little over what i wanted to spend though. Then again it seems some people are paying close to 4k off sticker for one so it may be doable.

Wanted to be $30k or under to buy it or have great lease deals. May look at the Audi A4 as well but I know it will be lacking power than im used to. New ones lease well but the 08 models seem to be selling for 24k or under. Hmm.

Mustang is a really compelling car. Snob appeal is lost on me now, so that is a non factor. The 5.0 and chassis are so amazing for the money, I don't know if anything can compete. I'm still waiting for the MT to be acknowledged by Ford. In the mean time I'm being so tempted by the auto tranny. I think you can drive a very hard bargain on the MT models is you want to. hmmm...is right.

THIS
I understand it doesn't work for everyone but...See above.
I've always hated buying gas and getting speeding tickets.
Guess I'm into my own definition of reasonable.

Unfortunately, speeding tickets are still very much a possibility. I've caught myself going much faster than I thought quite a few times... The car is very deceiving; Think you're doing 60mph? Nope you're doing 85...

Downshifting from 6th to 3rd on the highway is ridiculous... That can get you into a LOT of trouble...

First mod!! Pure white LED reverse lights Definitely more light than the incandescent bulbs, looks 1000 times better... I'd like to do the license plate lights next, but I want pure white LED's that aren't overly bright. A friend has some on his 350Z (from SuperBrightLED's) and it's like there's a purple spot light on his license plate...

I've actually ordered my first 'true' mod. It's an oil catch can:

(not my picture, I ordered mine in black)

Prevents oil from being recirulated into the intake. They're typically found on forced inudction set-ups but it's a very common mod for the 3.7 and 5.0's. Made by a company called JLT it comes with new Ford quick connects so it literally takes 30 seconds to take off the old one and clip on the new one.

It prevents this nastyness:

From going directly back into the intake, which in time will gum up the intake runners, valves, and eventually the cylinders. It's a no brainer...

Great first mod. If only catch cans were standard on cars..... too bad, people can't be bothered enough to dump the oil though.
