It's more than I thought it would be... One thing that was always on the back of my mind was how easy will it be to live with day in day out. Even after a couple hours in it today I can confidently say it will be very easy.

Looking good! Have fun out there.
Sort of unrelated and I don't think it concerns the V6 but have you continued to keep an eye on the clutch issues that were being talked about awhile back?

As for clutch issues, they've all been revised as of August. New clutch pedal assembly and pressure plate bolts were used after August, cars built before August can have the new parts installed under a TSB.
Now what has me concerned is the 150 page thread on rough shifting transmissions. Mine is perfect right now but it only has 350 kilometers on it. Most say this starts around 4000 miles. Of course I'm concerend about it happening to me but a Ford customer service rep has made a post on the Mustang forum stating a fix is in the works. Apparently 2012's have the same exact set up as my late built 2011.
I've also e-mailed my contact at the Ford plant (met him during my tour last year) just pretty much asking what's up with it, and sent him a link to the 150 page thread on rough shifting cars. We'll see what he says.

Axle back exhaust. I don't want anything louder, just deeper. Not sure which one yet. Notice how a page or so ago (before I started driving it) I didn't want to change anything ![Big Grin](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
I'll post up what he says, as for the link to the thread I'll just post it up here: http://www.allfordmustangs.com/forum...ng-thread.html
Apparently it's no different than what Camaro, Challenger, and Genesis Coupe guys were experiencing.

Don't let the naysayers get under your skin (you seem to be doing a great job of this already). Your Mustang looks fabulous.. just drop dead gorgeous. In my opinion, there are few cars in the world that look as good as the 2011 Mustang. God bless Ford for staying the course with this legend and only making it better. And it ain't a "no go showboat" either. It'll run with the best.
I hope you enjoy that beauty for years to come.

Ford Racing is very committed to the new V6 'Stang. In addition to the products being offered, there are plenty more under development. By this time next year you'll probably have lots of stuff.

The Ford Racing 'Sport' axle backs sound the best hands down.

Good exhaust systems for the Challengers start at 1200...usually are about 1600.
You can do what I did...had Flowmaster mufflers put on with straight pipe to the exhaust tips. Got rid of the resonators...not sure if your car has a similar layout or not...but I know you could have it done in some form.

It's not an entire cat back, which I can see paying $1000+ for a quality system. It's literally from the axles back that these muffler bolt up.

Also, if anybody was wondering what the cut off of the HID's looked like:
![](http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v77/Jeep_Man/photo-80.jpg)
It sends just the right amount of light upwards so that street signs are still very well lit yet doesn't distract other drivers what so ever. In my cousins MDX the HID cut off is so sharp that anything above the cutoff point is pitch black, leaving street signs very dimly lit. I'm very satisfied with them and couldn't imagine having halogens in any car after this

Way to make us halogen-ers feel inferior ![Sad](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/sad.gif)
That cutoff/beam does look pretty nice, though. Is this the first car you've driven with HIDs?
As far as the exhaust system, it sounds expensive for the material you get, but the sound is so worth the money, no matter how they go about getting it.

Service advisor just called me up, Ford just released a TSB to swap out the manual transmission fluid on the 2011's. He says he's had a few guys going in with clunky transmissions. Mine has been fine (knock on wood) but I'm going to have it done regardless.
What I did notice, and this has been the same with any manual I've ever driven, is that first thing in the morning the shifter feels a bit stiffer than normal. After one or two minutes it's fine. He says the new fluid will clear that up as well.

Loving every minute
![Nod](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif)
A lot of compliments on the car, couple waves from other Mustangs (They're all coming out of hybernation now), couple Camaros wanting to start something at the stop lights, and 2200 rpm in 6th gear at 120km/h (75mph) is absolutely fantastic.

I too notice roughness with basically every manual car I've driven, aside from the occasional car with the overly dampened vague-feeling stock shifter. With a car as new as yours, I'm not sure it'll make much difference if at all if they put in the same transmission fluid that they did from the factory.
Love rowing the gears on a warm day. Usually the tranny fluid is cooking a bit or is at least partially warmed up so the car shifts smooth right off the bat.
and what the hell are kms?!?!?!

Averaging 11L/100 km's right now. That was 98% city (supposed to avoid highway/constant RPM for the first 1000km's). Once I get a bit of highway drving into her it should average around 10L/100 km's. Strictly highway driving people are seeing around 8L/100km's with my same set up.

Great thread and updates. My Accord Coupe is starting to need more attention, so I'll have to get something new soon. I keep looking for something with a manual transmission, handles very well, is reliable, and has a reasonable power/fuel efficiency compromise. While I was looking for something more subtle and sedan like, the Mustang is looking like a great choice, mid-life crisis comments be damned.
Still, the thought of going back to Ford after the experience of my parents' Cougar and my Pinto gives me pause.
Edit - Are you going to use another car in the winter?
