I saw a G35

man, so many people have so much ANGST and HATE for the G35C based solely on the interior...its sad. its like you have to find the one (and only) weak spot and just keep going at it like achillies heel.....seriously get over it people.
the G35C is a sweet as fuck car. its got the CL-S beat all across the board. and as someone else pointed out, the CL-S interior is NOTHING to use as a benchmark for style or luxury...come on lets be honest. the new TL interior REALLY blows away the CL-S interior to holy hell!!! you want to look at a benchmark interior, look elsewhere, certainly not in ANY acura, the TL is a great step up for acura in interiors, but its still not as sweet as the higher end BMW or Audi or Benz.
stop raggin on the damn interior, its funtional, its easy to operate, its easy to understand, the navi is as good if not better than what you CL guys have. (the new TL navi would easily be my choice for the current best factory navi system but whats currently in the 2nd gen CL and TL is way old hat and small and outdated)
cant you just give props to a car thats clearly superior to yours in basically every way?? i for one love the G35C...if i had the money, id buy one in a heartbeat, its a beautiful car.
its kinda funny how theres NOTHING else to bitch about that car so EVERYONE bitches about the interior....how silly....
look at it from the flip side. there is PLENTY to bitch about in regards to the CL-S....
-glass tranny
-squeaks and rattles
-thin paint
-(now) sub-par navi
-shitty tires
and the list goes on. at least CL-S bashers have alot more ammo than you one track minded G35 bashers.
face it, a G35 is faster (stock for stock) against any CL-S and it will draw a HELL of alot more attention than a CL-S....sounds like most of you all are jsut bitter.

i beleive thats really pushing it....after all, you are very biased towards acura (what is it? 12 years? 15 years now? i forget what you said) but your brand loyalty and personal intrest in acuras progression clearly come into play on that opinion. i think, however, it is very safe to say, the new TL interior is easily Acuras best interior to date. period. the new RL is going to have to really be nice to one-up the TL interior, thats for sure!!

OK...
No flame wars intended. But to all of you that say about the G and 3-series interior, I'm curious to why you find it less than pleasing.
Dash light colors?
Too many buttons, not enough knobs?
Ergonomics all wrong?
Too much titanium?
Too much use of plastic?
Don't like the seats?
Yadda. Yadda. Yadda.
This isn't meant to create anything more than conversation. CIVIL conversation. Provide your opinions. And if you decide to provide, be prepared for some return comments from others.
Let's keep it CLEAN, but fun, mkay...

cl has a nicer interior, i've been in both and the cl wins interior wise.
but the new TL murders both.
the bmws interior is well above the interior of EVERY other car mentioned in this thread, including the new TL...not because of looks, but @ bmw, its a different quality of materials and grade that you know acura would not use

It just looks cheesy.
Too much plastic.
I wouldn't call it titanium, but whatever that silver plastic is. Too much of that too.
Too blocky.
It doesn't have an overall flow. Seems like diff components were stuffed into diff places; ie: center console.
The steering wheel looks :ghey:. The CL one is way more solid.
Overall, just too many squarish angles.. no curves. no "flow". Looks like it's not very ergonomic either.
On the bright side, the seats look okay.

I have to say I agree with jimcol this time. G35c is a pretty outstanding ride and beats CLS in every way. However, it has it's drawbacks like flimsy feeling interior, lack of space and radio that's below par for the class. I looked at the g35 coupe, but something just did not feel right.
BMW on the other hand just uses better materials and overall the interior as well as the rest of the car feels better put together. The price difference is 5k and 10k for g35c and CLS respectively, but you know where that money went when you buy a 330. My opinion is biased of course since I am an owner of a 330, but it's pretty easy to realize the differences.

True, but just because you spend 100% of your time INSIDE THE CABIN, doesn't mean the CLS interior is better than the G35C/3-series....
What's so great about the CL interior? And I'm not saying that the G/3 are better... I'm just curious to why you're so hung up on what you drive and can't admit something else out there is better.
Again, keeping it friendly... Just curious.

When I drove the CL, I never got one compliment on the interior. I only got comments from my gf and friends complaining that it was too stark inside (I had the black interior) and how the bowling ball trim looked stupid. Everyone loved the seats though
Again, I think the CL's interior is slightly nicer than the G35, but it's not like the CL interior is all that.
I'm with Scrib. What makes the CL interior so great?

cusdaddy.....
your friends have poor taste....what can i say?
cl interior > g35 interior because the CLS interior doesn't look like somebody decided to raid the panisonic boombox factory and use it in the interior. The buttons in the CL don't feel cheap.
350z interior is more shitty than the g35....but that's ok because the 350z is a sports coupe..
scrib......
100% of the time is spent inside of the car. I drive nearly 22k/year. I have to like the asthetics....g35 asthetics blow....

Panasonic, eh???
Intersting, because the LCD look is found on most cars these days. 3-series, audi, Infiniti...
Granted the orange color isn't what I would prefer, but I seriously felt like I was sitting in a 1980s toyota with the backlit radioin the CL . Combine that with the same knobs and buttons that were on my 1991 Accord EX...
It's not a bad thing. Afterall, I did buy the CLS. And I enjoyed the car.
And you mentioned a cheap feeling... To me cheap, means it brakes and required to be fixed. Last time I checked, Infiniti was top in reliability. And I'd assume they'd take into account the whole car when doing a survey like this? Doesn't sound cheap to me...
What makes this board great is the opinions, and you're entitled to them. But I'm not seeing the cheap, poor asthetics. I see something different and a little more with the times, versus an inteiror that is/was very dated.

Sorry...it looks like a panisonic boombox was sacrificed and the remaining pieces were put into the g35/maxima interior.
your grasping at straws with the backlit radio......
this next statement isn't really directed towards you....
don't feel threatened lol no need to defend your purchase with me. G35 exterior and drive train are beautifal. Just the interior imho sux.

u know what makes interior cheap?? rattles... doesnt matter how great the interior looks, once it has 10000 ratles, they all become shitty....
i agree with most of u that CLS interior is better.. but not by much. but i get more compliments with G35C's interior than my CLS's. it doesnt matter how great it looks, quality is what matters.

I really think the rattles have something to do with where the car was built.
Parents have a 99 Maxima SE built like a vault; No rattles still - built in Japan
My 350z, no rattles - built in Japan
CLS - Had a number of rattles; Moonroof, passenger seat rattle, rattle on the rear shelf by the back window - made in Ohio
My 03 Accord - window frames rattle over bumps, slight rattle near the glove compartment - made in Ohio
Numerous other American cars I and my parents have owned (Dodge/Ford/GM) - Rattle traps made in the US
I see a trend???

I know others who have bought vehicles made in Japan who have quality issues.......what's your point?
again....not an arugment about quality....stay focused....interior looks like shit....my opinion....deal with it, stop trying to defend it.....if you like it fine, if you don't fine......
