And I promised myself I wouldn't mod this car...

...well the UPS guy just stopped by w/ a few packages:

GMM ripshift (short shifter from AU): $299
Noltec Bushings (Front Radius Rod, Rear Subframe connectors, Rear diff bushing, rear camber kit, front and rear sway bar endlink bushings): $450
5 quarts of Redline D4 ATF: $50

It's slowly adding up, next step is to wait for Tein to release their SS coilovers, or maybe do exhaust in the meantime (although I promised myself I wouldn't become a mustang owner and put exhaust on a stock motor'd car). But the price is right ($410 shipped, and it sounds good, not to loud but quiet at idle till you get on it), and it looks so gooooooood

Everything is going on in the morning Hopefully I'll have no more wheel hop

why coilovers? I would go w/ springs and enjoy a better ride.

it's not like you're gonna slam it, right?

cause the coilovers will be about the same price as a spring and shock setup. I would also like the adjustability of the coilovers. Haven't really decided yet, i'm going to have to wait to see how the coilovers come out. If i'm not satisfied i'll go w/ some adjustable koni's and a spring from down under that's stock ride height.

you should do everything you can to make that car loud - the motor is begging for it.. honestly the other day I was driving and this GTO w/ exhaust blew past me and it sounded soooooo sick... and whats this about only Mustang owners upgrading their exhaust on stock motors? man everyone does it. just do it, bird flu is spreading fast.

feel it, lol. I haven't heard a stock GTO but I have heard a stock C6 at WOT and it most certainly did not sound like this GTO... Im not a GTO historian by any means but your GTO has the same motor as a C6, correct? Most likely it had long tubes / straight pipes / whatever theyre called.. I mean it was LOUD.. it sounded like a NASCAR.. only more refined.

Yea, the C6 and GTO sound pretty different, Pontiac did some tweaking to the exhaust to get it to sound similiar to the old GTO's

that 2nd video is crazy... thats what it sounded like..

it was crazy because I heard the sound and then I saw the car, and its like, they didnt match. I dunno if that makes any sense. dont let that stop you though.

yeap, I think you made me decide to save my money for wheels so I can get a 285 back there instead of a 245

When did you make that promise? You were already talking about getting a short shifter before picking up the car.

That GTO in the video sounds mean and I like the sound alot. Im a little jealous of your car right now Scott. I have been thinking about purchasing a new car lately and I meant to ask you how much you got your car for.

Right now im deciding upon a daily driver - something reliable, something to make my short drive to work on the open highway a little more interesting.

When I bought my ZR, I promised myself I was gonna mod the shit out of it and I am! Next up, install stereo system (Focals, Premier Pioneer, Xenon, etc.) exhaust, Stillen SC/hood. If you're gonna keep the car Scott, you might as well make it distinctive I say!

Do you not drive your GTO very often? Just wondering on the carpeting under the wheels... Usually people only do that to help stop flat spots.

oh.......... those. I thought those were something else. And, I didnt know it was a pic of his car, I thought it was from that JBA site, because it said "sound clip" along with a link right under the pic . And, I understood it wrong, somehow I thought it meant they were putting carpeting in the wheelwells Trust me I was about the whole thing... ok soo.. yeah.

I personally think the C6 sounds better. IMO this exhaust is quiet, but what do I know I've got Magnaflows and an Off-Road X-pipe on my Mustang. I could be used to the loudness.

my wheel options are limited and I don't want to drop an arm and a leg as all I really want them for is to be able to get something bigger then a 245 in the back. These will allow me to get a 275 in the back and maybe a 295
