I needed AWD...
I've been driving this thing for 3.5 years and loved it. (For sale, btw.)

But my work is taking me to Wisconsin so I figured this would be a good opportunity to change back to a sedan, and get AWD while I'm at it. I've always been more of a sedan person.
So after searching high and low for a while, I found THE one. I did a lot of research online reading up on specs, reviews and forums. Then I searched all manners of for-sale sites until I found the right one.
I talked to the owner over the weekend, booked the one-way flight on Tuesday and flew out on Thursday from Tennessee to Texas. Then I drove her 820+ miles home.

It's a 2007 S8 in Daytona Gray Pearl Effect and black interior. This thing is a monster. It has the Lamborghini Gallardo V10 that is bored out to 5.2 liters. It has 450 hp and 397 tq. The list of features in this car is dizzying but intuitive so I was able to learn most of the controls on the drive home. It is almost fully loaded; just missing the lane departure warning system. The owner took great care of it and was always dealer-maintained.
I will miss the reliability of the Genesis. I foresee a lot of headaches with the Audi, despite how much I absolutely love it already.

Thanks all. I'll post up interior pics and vids as requested soon. I'm not into AV at all, so they will just be from my cell phone.
I left Hyundai about 3 years ago. I work for Amazon.com now. Otherwise this would have been a career suicide.
Whose plate is that? The former owner's?
I was just looking at 2011 CPO S6s on Autotrader. Love the car but the interior is clearly old. I think the D3 S8 still looks great.
Would love to see the interior. I have always been a huge fan and hope you have many, many good years with it.

Do you still have the TL 6-speed?I'll be working in Kenosha. Not sure where I'll be living since my wife's job isn't finalized yet. But either way, it's probably only a couple of hours away from Appleton.

This and other comments and questions about maintenance... just to give you an idea, it's going in next week for early 65k service. $290. This is not a major service interval and only requires an oil change and a visual inspection.
This thing takes TEN quarts of synthetic oil. Still, $290 is ridiculous.
Do you think it's too late to return it?

Best of luck with your new chariot! That is a real nice ride and quite an upgrade.. Unfortunately I know too many folks who have had major issues with their Audis, but none have owned an S8.
Thanks!

All things relative, maintenance is not that bad. We've owned two Audi's over the last 7-8 years, and currently have a Mercedes... and yes, maintenance is higher, but all 3 had 10k oil change intervals and, knock on wood since we still own the Mercedes... all 3 were just as reliable as any Acura I've owned.
So yes, maintenance will be more then your Japanese vehicles... but look what you're driving. Enjoy it
Hey... you gotta pay to play

It doesn't look like a complicated process but does look like it would take a while. I would imagine that they'll bill two hours for the oil change and visual inspection plus oil and filter.
Audi probably has their recommended brand but from what I read it's just the viscosity that matters.
Yeah, the viscosity on the BMW was unique as well. That being said, I saw plenty of people using Royal Purple, etc. in different viscosity levels. Did it matter? Dunno.
