What you guys think of the new 2013 Hyundai Genesis Coupe, especially the R-Spec. It should be available by Spring.

performance wise it's good but it's just not very well appointed on the interior.. i sat in the 2011 3.8 and it was nothing special on the interior, but i'm picky with interiors. even acura has some ugly interiors (mostly the csx)

Have you driven one? I considered leasing one before I bought my Cl. They feel very numb gauge steering mushy brakes and poor throttle response. But that's my opinion. Have you looked at the new accord coupe? Or a 370z?

Don't let the haters sway you.
The Gen Coupe is a great choice for v6 coupes.
*The 2013 restyled front end is now looking like its made for grownups.
*The weight of the car is right in line with other V6 coupes...
Gen Coupe = 3473 lbs
Mustang V6 = 3453 lbs
G37 = 3633 lbs
Camaro V6 2LT = 3822 lbs.
*It makes more power (348HP) than any v6 coupe with a back seat...tying with the Infiniti IPL G Coupe.
*The interior is as good if not better than anything in its class except for the Infiniti G37.
*The Accord Coupe is not even in the same league as the rest of these RWD players.
Is it perfect? No...But, in short, its a great choice. It also has a great warranty to boot. Best of luck with it.

How in the hell does the 2013 Gen Coupe look like its for grownups?
I do agree with you about the Accord. For one, its not the prettiest car. It, too, is not light, and its still FWD. IMO, the Accord is just a new CL without memory seating and the all important LSD.

I love it. Good choice.
Haven't seen the new front end in person, so I won't make a judgement on it yet. I like it though.
At least it will be pretty damn fast and has a RWD. Whoever compared this to Accord Coupe is a bit dumb imo.

Likewise, I do not like the Genesis Coupe's front end .. the only way I could live with it would be getting it in black.
RWD + powerful V6 + great warranty .. not too much more you can ask for in a sports car

I like the new gen, and I liked the old gen. More power and RWD for a very good price, I think it's a good buy. And it's not as heavy as most of the other cars in it's class.

I'm in the same boat as you OP. I was set on replacing the TL with the 2013 Gen Coupe 2.0t but then I found out about the price increase over the 2012 model. I realized you can get a WRX for around the same money. WRX >>> Gen coupe.

you are comparing a 4 door AWD car to a 2 door RWD car.

And the new GC is getting a price bump because it's getting a lot of new stuff as well as a big increase in hp/tq number. You make it sound like its getting the price increase for nothing.

OP, there are a lot of fun cars to be had within your price range. Just test drive everything on a same day and get the one that you like the most.
The magazine race will not get you anywhere.

Yes I know that. But why can't they be compared? I feel like the target audience for the WRX and the Gen Coupe are very similar.

Though the new front end might not be a thing of beauty, it certainly looks more mature, to me, than the previous one. I think the car will look good in dark grey and fantastic in black.
I'll be seriously considering this car. Test drives will determine how far I will go for it.
