Soooo I sent an e-mail to my Caddy rep just to see what's the story with the Wagon's now, considering none were built back in November. In 500 miles of NYC, there is 1 CTS-V Wagon in stock in a 6 speed, it's Black Raven/Black, it has the Recaro seat package, sueded steering wheel/knob and wood trim. I guess if I do end up getting this bitch I'll probably have to order it. Black isn't my first choice...

The biggest thing holding me back is knowing it's going to cost double the price and half the mpg that I have now.. Plus I will need to get a second set of wheels and winter tires without a doubt. Not as worried about the wheels, though..

But the grin from ear to ear as you drive it will make those shortcomings a moot point.

DO IT. DO IT NOW.

The mileage and the winter tires didn't stop me 35 months ago. I'm starting to get new car itch though.

Anyway....

This is the color I would want...

Thunder Gray - Question is, do I go with the matte black wheels and yellow calipers? All the pics I find online are with the standard aluminum look wheels...

This is Black Diamond with the wheels/calipers..

Or do I go White Diamond? It's gonna be a bitch to keep clean though...but it looks quite good...Black out the roof (I would also have the pano roof, so the blacked out roof would complement nicely, even if thunder gray), and go with black wheels and yellow calipers. Only thing is, I think I would rather gloss black wheels over matte..

Black Diamond, black wheels, yellow calipers. Thunder Gray is a close second.

Either way, you will giggle like a 17-year-old every time you step on the loud pedal. I do.

DO IT.

The sad thing is, my wife's 3.0L V6 in her SRX is getting her the same mileage as you. Pretty sad if you ask me..

Yes, I know, I have to steal it from her one day to take it in to service at the dealer (pre-paid maintenance compliments of Caddy)

My car with upper pulley, axleback exhaust, and CAI. Pay attention only to the first 20 seconds or so. I need to make some new videos this year, though....

I like the Black Diamond too, but the color isn't on my list of choices. Black cars are too annoying to maintain the paint..

Oh no you di'int just post some vroom to excite me!

Do you really hear the whine of the supercharger that much? Or is it the combo of the pulley and intake that amplifies it?

Oh yes I did post some car porn! I just spent the last five minutes rewinding that sweet supercharger whine......even though I just heard it driving to and from work today. Stock, the whine is very much muted. It is a Caddy, after all. I wanted to hear more whine, so I got the CAI. Now I hear whine all day long and it never, ever gets tiring.

I guess I don't feel so bad now.

Of your color choices, I'd go with Thunder Gray. The silver and white are very easy to keep clean on this car, though....

Silver is the best neutral color. I likes silvers and grays, but, I tend to shift to the grays lately..

In my past and now present:
My first Honda Accord ('87), a hand-me-down was champagne beige metallic
'95 Mazda Millenia - Pearl White
'99 TL - Silver
'01 GS300 - Silver
'05 G35x - Grey (wife)
'05 Scion xB - Yellow
'06 S2000 - Blue
'06 X3 - Breakwater Blue (Silvery Blue) (wife)
'07 GTI - White
'08 RDX - Grey (wife)
'09 Mini - Grey
'11 SRX - Mocha Steel (Brownish/Greyish) (wife)
'07 Elise - Yellow
'66 Rustang - Midnight Blue

The other cars I've had and shared with my brother way back when:
'99 Miata - Black
'03 FX35 - Copper (Orange)
I forgot what year, I think '04 or '05 IS300 - Blue

And then the work vehicles:
'09 Sentra SL - Grey
'10 Civic EX-L - Red
'00 Astro van (the hoopdie) - Green

White with black wheels and yellow calipers . Gray with the same options would be my second choice.

As much as I would go along with the "do it!!!" crowd.

You raise valid points.

Chances are VERY strong the cost of gasoline will skyrocket in the coming months. If Iran does not back down as a result of the sanctions, we will have a war in the gulf before the November election....and the gas prices will go nuts.

Put all of our eggs in the Saudis to offset production and everything is gonna be alright.

If gas sky rockets you may be able to get a deal on a gas guzzler

Sure fire way to get kids to stop disparaging said V:

1- Strap children to top of V;
2- Engage in 0-100 run at WOT;
3- Test brake effectiveness by applying maximum braking pressure;
4- Mildly "suggest" to kids that next time you hear "Bieber" in same sentence with "CTS-V", you will repeat said process minus the straps.

Problem solved.

My 328i roof is vinyl wrapped. It's not as shiny as paint and up close you can tell it's vinyl but otherwise, it's perfect.

So, what I'm saying is get that ish wrapped, homie

My kids actually enjoy that kind of abuse..

Like Shoofin, the Vee is on my very short list of treats for myself this year if all goes well with work.

Even if...and that's a BIG if the Saudis can offset production as they claim, the speculators alone will drive the price of oil through the roof.

War with Iran is not going to be taken lightly in the markets.

+ $5.00/gal gasoline will be coming soon when/if war with Iran goes down in the coming months.

Two words - Drill. Alaska.

Another suggestion - Invade Canada.
