What did you not like about the 2009? Just curious.

 

^^ I didn't like the styling at all... I thought I was driving my grandma's car.
After seeing new gen, everything felt like "outdated".

I like the new gen because the whole car looks very sharp, not like a boat.

 

I like the front, but the rear looks so cheap.

 

It doesn't look cheap at all imo. Especially when you see it in person. It looks pretty damn luxurious.

I think it looks lot better in person, but definitely not as aggressive as the front.

 

Yeah the E doesn't photograph well at all. Pictures can't really capture the angles of the car, especially the rear. Looks way better in person.

I am leaning towards to glossy finish for about 60% and 40% on flat.

Not sure if I like the painted look. It makes the car look cheap. To me some cars look better with the chrome than black look. This is one such car.

 

Stock looks much better than the two painted versions imo

 

Gloss. Matte black would clash with the glossy black of the rest of the car. Either way, it'd look SO much better if the star was left unpainted. There isn't enough contrast when its painted.

 

How you liking the car thus far?

 

My mom just got an 11' white/tan one, I like it for her but not my cup of tea.

I am actually trying to go for the sporty looks.

cjTL, star grill only comes in coupe. Even at MB forum, it's 50% on yay and nay on star grill.
I am debating to getting grill or not...

after long look, if I ever decides to get a star grill, I probably go with glossy to match rest of the car.

Couldn't be happier with my car... only thing that bugs me the most with my car is non-xenon. I am thinking about getting aftermarket HID kit, but quality is no near OEM.

I am planning on lowering it, run some rep E63 wheels.

 

Neither grille looks good. Stock is damned near perfect on that car. To each, his own, though.

Maybe it's just me...but, I don't generally am a fan of modding a Mercedes-Benz (esp. something like an E-Class) unless you're getting it from RENNTECH or AMG.

Gotta agree. I looked at a grille for the wife's car but decided no very quickly. Anything else other then stock looks like the C-Class for some reason.

 

Mercedes is the only German cars I would buy. The other two main car makers don't appeal to me. I don't like VW either.

I had the 09 E350 before current one.. same engine, same power.
I was pretty happy with the car... I don't need all those power when I will be stuck in traffic 24/7.

Glendale isn't bad, but going towards DT LA is the worst place to be.

I been wanted to go check out the new C coupe... I saw few C250 on the road, and looked really good.

If you do decide to alter the grill, I suggest it be a gloss black to match the car finish. Like this:
