How rare are these manual IS300's ..

Well I'm meddling in the market for a new car .. Gained interest in IS300's .. I know to a lot of people, the styling is bland, but for some reason, I just really like it. Anyways I been searching for 2, 3 days all over the net .. mainly the Seattle/Tacoma dealerships, so I can ship it up here .. and all I could find were the semi-automatics .. I really want a manual car this time. At this point, however, I'm not fully in the market, that'll be early next year .. It just seems the manual IS300s are as rare as the CL-S 6speeds. =/ This true?

They are pretty rare. they didnt start making them til 1-2 years into the model.

I think the IS300 is a great car. Just needs a tighter suspension.

You get your gasoline for free?

I do, with a company CC, and it still pisses me off every time I fill my wife's IS300. Sure is fun to drive it the mountains though!

manual's became availabe starting with the 02 model year. it's good car, just needed more oompf in the engine and the suspension to get away from the "chick car" status. hence the new IS.

Just a FYI but the IS300 is a gas guzzler, otherwise nice car.

J2Z block ... great mod potential (eg Supra)... but yes, drinks gas like there's no tomorrow.

wow, you from anchorage?? i used to live there. moved to nj though. what part are you from? i used to live in Diamond area, close to the mall.

yeah, i remember we used to ship cars up from seattle area.

i would have to say manual IS's are really rare, similar to the manual CL-S. its gonna take some time for one to come up... good luck with your search

I never understood why it guzzled so much gas. The power ratings weren't even that high.

if 1SICKLEX was here, he would probably start bashing you for not knowing. and then write up a whole essay on how the J2Z block works..

i dont really understand why either.. that thing just burned off gas like nothing and wasnt that quick. all i learned is that its a great engine to mod..

they are very rare... but if you're thinking of modifying it I would suggest swapping it out for the Altezza 6spd tranny.
