How is this Possible

Was just perusing the interwebz, and came across this little gem.... (NSX Submarine)

Can ANYONE please explain how this is possible, and how the car didn't Hydrolock.

I mean, I know Honda's (Acura's) last forever, but I'm floored.

I don't think this will put a dent in Toyota Land Cruiser or Range Rovers (old models) sales. Heh, I'd like to see the "snorkle" kit option on an NSX.

probly didnt hydrolock becaus the intake isnt in the front...

but that does not mean you should take your NSX swimming.

I know they're mid-engine, but jeez, the water's almost up to the car's beltline. That is one lucky mofo.

I'd hate to do that to an NSX. If I had an original Beetle though...

NSX draws air from the driver side cutout behind the door, and it's a large cutout with a baffle to stop water from entering into the motor. Looks like honda's engineering works! That coupled with a more than likely air intake leak (IE cracked hose somewhere) helps out!

So the bypass valve is effective at preventing hydrolock in even the worst circumstances?
