If you were to buy a used car for *primary daily use*
would you avoid ones that have been thru more than ONE previous owner ?

What maximum previous ownership number is acceptable to you ?

Personally I swore off non-first-ownership cars, wont even look at them.

Also, is it possible to find out how many owners a car have been owned ?

depends on teh year. if it 3 or 4 years old, prob no more than 2 owners.

Carfax usually tells you how many times it's been registered and how many owners have had it.

And if I'm looking at used cars I automatically avoid demo's, cars with accident/salvage/flood/buyback/stolen history, and cars that have been registered has rentals, government/commercial use, or taxis.

Also it depends on how old the car is too. I.e. if it's ten years old and has had one to three owners then I'd considered that normal. But if it was a one or two year old car with more then two or three owners then I'd stay away from it.

When I bought my then 6 year old car, it had two owners. I thought that was fine, though any more and I'd have to think about it.
