How Low...

Will it go?

I went over to a friends house and thankfully chose to take the Santa Fe. He is rebuilding their back yard and I offered my help to pick up another round of paving stones for the new patio. He had another 75 in his Audi Allroad which handled the weight a bit better thanks to its load-leveling suspension.

The SF, on the other hand, did not enjoy this trip despite being just below the GVWR. It had virtually no power on take-off and braking maneuvers needed to be planned well in advance. I can't imagine towing with this car.

Check out the spring compression. I had to be very careful going over bumps.

Probably wouldn't have any issues towing anything moderately sized. Remember tongue weight is much less than the actual weight of what you're towing; With that said, it looks like somebody is FINALLY putting the cargo area of an SUV to good use!

Looks like his Santa Fe could use some real springs. Cusco or Bilstein. Something really rigid.

Or he buys a pick-em-up truck for real hauling.

Most cross overs are rated at most 3500 lbs towing which is nothing when it comes to towing. Every extra person in the car besides the driver subtracts from that weight as does cargo as well which makes it even worse.

Pavers are HEAVY. A full size pick up loaded with pavers will sag in the rear, let alone a car that was never meant to carry such heavy loads.
