That's exactly what I thought.... and is it me or is that a 3-series in the bottom pictures and not a 6-series?

I just have to say, OWNED! Not only the BMW, but also the deer. Imagine hitting the deer, pulling over, checking your grill and thinking, WTF happened to the deer? Look behind you, no deer. Open the hood.... holy shit!

I wouldn't be laughing at all if this happened to me, but that is so funny to see the pics....

How the deer went past the hood into the engine bay is still beyond comprehension for me.

Did it get sucked up through the bimmer nostrils or something? Hitting a deer at 140 would do way more than that....wouldnt it?

It may seem counterintuitive, but oftentimes the more speed you have the less damage the impact does due to your momentum.

On second thought, it may be a dog. I don't see antlers or anything, and I don't think deers have fur that long.

I believe its a deer. I hit one doing around 110 once passing a group of cars and it exploded on impact. The largest part was a hind leg.

I bet teh motor is fubar. Ive seen wild turkeys go thru radiators aon pickup trucks and even one that cracked a block

Looks like a deer to me, just not a fully grown one, a fawn.

it looks kind of like a deer. not a 150 pound deer though.a 150 pound deer would have most likely gone through the windshield.

I don't have an explanation, just experience. I've personally seen a car that hit a deer at 70+mph and only the corner blinker was damaged. I've also seen a car that hit a deer at just 35mph and the whole front end was crumpled.....

Wow.

My money is on the deer exploding on impact and only a good chunk of him getting sucked in the engine bay.

Were both of the cars of the same make/model? And how big were each deer? And did they hit the deer in the same area, i.e. the center (you said one of them only had a damaged blinker), etc. It really sounds counterintuitive.

That really sounds completely counterintuitive.... imagine walking vs. a full sprint into a wall of cinderblocks. You walk into them face first, and impact the cinderblocks square with your face, and you end up with some scratches. Next, starting from the same distance. You sprint full speed into the cinderblocks at full speed with your face, and then end up with a bloody nose, bruised forehead, chin, etc.

Not that I didn't believe you... its just seems to be the opposite of common sense.

Yeah, upon further examination I think you're right. Could it be the last gen 6 series, w/o the restyled frontend? The headlights look too big to be a 3 series.
Anyway that really doesnt matter.

I got this from a buddy of mine in an e-mail. It didn't come with an explanation; what I posted was pretty much what was in the e-mail, sorry.

It is pretty amazing that this happened. At least it was a quick death. In the first actual picture it looks like you can make out a left rear leg and the tail, maybe?

Yeah, I figured they had to be on the internet somewhere.

It wasn't a repost though I don't think.

Yeah, that moose thing is pretty crazy.
I guess it's pretty common up there though

How would you like to die like that? Having a moose take off the roof of your car and take you out? Dang!
