Here is one pic once I finished the install... I like it even better now that I put it in. More pics of the install pending. Its a fairly simple affair...but its in such a small space and the new material is alittle thicker so I had to work harder to get a perfect fit.

Thanks a lot man! It really does... it really lightened the interior and made it feel alil bigger... the guy at the shop let me match the color first then he came and looked and was like... sweet... that's it.

Yeah the CL played jukebox for me. I had BT hooked to my phone and kept it in the Mercedes to I could adjust the music... it was pimp...I had track and volume control in my hand.... I didn't want to run the SLK radio Because I had to keep turning the car on to move the top back and forth plus the key was beeping because The doors were open...

Install pics
to access the screws that hold the headliner and the side rails you have to position the top like this and then turn the car off... but the top will move occ, so you have to watch your fingers and the top is alot heavier than you might think...
there is a long plastic clip (you can see it on the far right) that the headliner slides into and I was afraid I might break it since the headliner was alittle thicker than it was prior to being recovered... 10 y/o plastic is not your friend... I was blessed to get it in without a hitch.
here you can see the areas of the front that attach the screws and the hydraulic locking mechanism for the top... there are little hoses runnig all along the sides and front of both sides of the top...
here, I am installing the side rails, which have 3 screws, but are crazy hard to position, esp the one in the rear b/c you have to move the top about three times until you get to the exact spot where you can reach it...
couple more pics of the finished product...

oh yeah... for anyone wondering what that hole in the headliner is... in case the top fails but needs to be released, there is a key hole in there for the locking mechanism. I never did have the cap for it, but they're a couple bucks and will be having one covered to match when I have time...

Thanks so much!!!
It is the "brightest" interior I have ever owned... thought I wouldn't like it at first... was gonna try to change it to all black or gray... but alas... ... I love it now.
...gotta a long way to go... forgot to order a part today for her... was having too much fun driving around doing errands....

I will hollar at you... MB had a brain fart and put some weird paint over perfectly good material to get the red color on the center console...comes off with a slight scrape... a guy on one of the other MB sites had all of his covered in leather! That was straight
and no, but its all good man... if you remember, then I will hit you up when the weather improves...

qwik update.... changed the oil (mobil 1...6 quarts...yeah I was surprised so much for a 2.3 L 4 banger), filter and air filter (all from NAPA)... I did it myself... nice to save the 98 bucks, but I had to wash it myself
went smooth.... the oil fliter is on the top of the engine... made things so much easier... and cleaner.... you do have to remove a plastic skid place under the front part of the engine (that hit me in the chest...LOL)... 10K oil change interval is what I read... ML will do more often than that...
the transmission is much further back than I thought... kinda reminiscent of my 84 ZX
no pics... but I did do the work...
