Honda's Lease to Retail Rollover program

I wanted to see if anyone has gone through Honda's Lease to Retail Rollover program? http://www.hondafinancialservices.co...nd.asp#option3

Basically I am nearing the end of my lease so I contacted the nearest Acura dealer for more details about this program. The dealership told me they charge $1500 to handle the following:

- Smog inspection
- DMV registration
- Safety Requirements (new tires, etc)
- Detailing the vehicle
- Provide Bank Financing

I originally thought I would just show up at the dealership, get financing and drive out, not have to pay $1500 for the above services since I can take care of that myself. Has anyone done this before? Was it $1500?

Thanks!

sounds like 1500 down the drain. I plan on buying mine out. I will most lucky have to finance the residual though a bank.

Sounds very, VERY stupid. Just buy out your residual through a lender. Go to the bank of choice and say your lease is coming to an end and you would like to buy the car. They will know exactly what you want.
