I'll take the $120,000 and buy a 911 GT3 over this thing.

I agree with the above posts. What makes the Skyline so expensive. I never understood. Can someone please explain. I realize they are rare, but that along can't justify $120K. On top of that...even with a helicopter engine in there...it can't be worth that much. To me, it looks like a civic with a nice motor. And a motor aint worth $120K. So, why so much $ for a Skyline?

So...yea, gtr is a very good car, but to me it just doesn't worth US $120k, I mean in Japan, it's only about US$50k when new. I wouldn't pay that much even if it's that rare here. But that's just my opinion. To me, US $120k, I would rather get a NSX and convert it into the Type R version, I've seen a NSX-R converions for US$100k, that sounds more like a bargain to me as its' $20k cheaper, and it's as rare as the skyline here, if not more, and I prefer MR, since that's what a sport car should be.

First of all, that Skyline is a very very clean example. Plus, engine bay doesn't look stock AT ALL. And imagine how difficult, not to mention expensive it is to get parts for an R34.
The thing is, how often do you see an R34 GTR on the street, just regular driving? NEVER. I've seen more Diablos, 360s, 355s, Aston Martins, and Murcielagos than I can count on 1 hand with, with 360s and 355s being pretty common. I've seen more R34 GTRs at car shows/HIN than I can count with on both hands, but I've never seen one driving around or just parked on the street. I've seen an R33 GT-S parked in a lot before, plus my next door neighbor had a RHD R32 GTR parked outside in his driveway before, but never an R34.
Does that mean I would spend $120k, even $100k on that Skyline? Hell no. I would buy a clean, stock R34, then mod it to my liking. But me, if I were a multi-billionaire, I would of course have Ferraris, Porsches and Lambos in my person multi-level indoor parking garage, but I would also import a 4-door ITR, NSX-R, EK CTR and FD CTR, Accord Type-R, 98+ spec MR2 plus an R34 for good measure just to get that WTF effect when I actually drive one around.
^No wait, make that 2 of each.... as the shoeheads say, one to rock and one to stock.

hotness.. what are the two canisters w/ filters coming out of them beside the turbo inlet/intake? Also- is the oil filter located at the top stock or does he have a dry sump setup or something?

Now, for the relocated oil filter, I don't know if its dry sump or not. Not stock for sure. Probably has an oil cooler, then he had to relocate the oil filter elsewhere to make room for the oil cooler. Not sure where the oil filter is on a stock Skyline, cause I've never worked on one before....

I don't know ... I'd rather get the blue one than a traditional white.
Guess I won't spend my US$120k then ...
(just like a Honda commercial in Canada ... guy's sitting in a F1 car ... asks the dealer, "how much?" ... answer: $5 million. guy "does it come in blue?" ... answer: "No". guy looks up at an Accord nearby -- "how about that one?" ... answer: "Yes". ... I guess you have to watch the commercial for it to be remotely funny.
