ever since i moved to manhattan, i always get scared driving into a gas station. i start sinking into my seat and try not to stare at the dollar amount going up. damn those numbers just keep on scrolling..

later on i realized that, i still save about 4-5 dollars on gas EVEN if i drive the extra 12 miles, pay for the GWBridge toll, cross over to jersey, fill up over there, and drive back. i wanna move back to jersey...

Detroit, MI (Sun, Sept 24 / 06)...

regular (87) - $2.089 / gal
mid (89) - $2.189 / gal
premium (93) - $2.289 / gal

I got 11.9 gallons ... only cost me US$27.45 ...

C$30.74 for 44.9L = C$0.683 / L for premium gas! It's $0.919/L in Windsor ... ridiculous!

I remember I filled up the G35c a couple of months ago and it ended up being a little over $50. Premium was $3.139 at the time and the pump autoshut off at 16.288. Definetely a shocker to need 50 bucks to fill a small car. But I only need fillups every 2 weeks or so.

Now premium here in Atlanta is around $2.40.

If there's a gas station that is charging way more than others for whatever reason, simply avoid it, go to another one...

Just last night I filled up for $2.79 per gallon for 93 at a Mobile station in Long Island City.

Whiskers ... not surprising how much the fill up for petrol is in Europe.

I don't think North American people realize how much gasoline costs in other parts of the world. Seriously ... people here b*tch and complain at $3 / gallon. Right now where I live, it's like US$2.68/gallon regular. Take a look at the rest of the world:

http://money.cnn.com/pf/features/lis...ces/price.html

If you want cheap gas ... move to Venezuela.

You guys are pretty much socialist there so you get what that brings....Here gas is expensive due to environmental wackos not allowing us to drill for oil or even to increase our refining capacity.........

No you do not!! The "head of state" (namely Hugo Chavez) is a communist despot. While a $.14/gallon gas price sounds terrific, there are too many other "goings on" in Venezuela that negate the benefits of that "free" gas.

I would tend to disagree -- while it may be "communist" -- Why is that such a bad thing? Is every communist leader a despot? I think American media is too hyped up on that ... ask the poor people of Venezuela (ie most of the population) what it was like when the 'pro-democracy' (aka pro-American) leader was running the country? At least with Chavez, they can get around with cheap gas and have some redistribution of funds to the poorest people. And lastly, I think every person outside of the US finds the current administration to be more of a despot than the leader of Venezuela. (ie Q: "How can Hugo Chavez affect the world?" -- US gov't commission response: "Affect oil prices $5-$8 a barrel") versus ... Q: "How can President Bush affect the world?" -- you know the answer)

I also find it ironic that the US (the richest country in the world) has no problems accepting Venezuelan oil at low prices (for the poor people) but critize their president for being communist.

Back on topic ... cost is all relative. Canada has TONS of oil yet we're paying more than the US. Why is that? Sure ... tax is one thing (to fund our universal programs) but our prices are more affected by world oil prices. It's too bad only 2 provinces are profitting from oil right now.

[edit] I consider myself a conservative when it comes to social issues ... yet there's a cut-off where I believe that the poorest people in your country shouldn't be living like those in the 3rd world.

So even if the average price per gallon in England is around $5.50 which it has been for a while, how the hell did it cost Whiskers $100 to fill up a Focus? No way that tank fits 18+ gallons...

Oh and gas prices in Russia aren't too shabby either...

Empty tank + 50 liters at 1 pound per liter = 50 pounds = $100
